Who writes the posts
The posts on the Ringo blog are signed Theo Marchetti. That is a pen name: it belongs to the Ringo editorial team, and we say so openly. There is no single person behind it and no photo, because the posts are the work of a team.
Theo Marchetti writes the comparison posts and the other guides on the blog.
The team is part of Ringo Ltd, the company that sells Ringo Light data eSIMs. So the publisher of these posts sells one of the products they compare. You should know that before you read a single price, and you should weigh what you read with it in mind.
That is also why every figure in a post comes with its source, so you never have to take our word for it.
02
How we read prices
For each destination we read the prices of the brands travellers usually compare: Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad and Ubigi, and Maya Mobile where its own page can be read. Where those brands do not sell a country, we compare the brands that do.
Each brand’s own website comes first, in US dollars. When a site shows only euros or will not load for us, we use that brand’s listing on esimdb.com and note the date the listing was last updated.
Every post says the day its prices were read, and every source is linked under Sources at the foot of the post. Ringo Light’s prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.
If we cannot read a brand’s prices on the day, that brand stays out of the table and the post says so. We do not guess a price. We quote each brand’s fair use and speed rules as the brand states them, and we make no speed claims, because we do not run speed tests.
03
How often posts are checked
Prices change often. We read rival prices again regularly, the most read posts first, the same way each time, and rewrite the figures that moved.
Each post shows the date its prices were read, its Published date and, once it has been revised, an Updated date. Treat every number as a snapshot of the day it was read.
04
What we never do
No brand pays to appear in a post or to rank higher in one. There are no paid placements on the blog.
Ringo Light is listed first in each post, and the post names the rows it wins. Where a rival is cheaper or better on a row, the post says so plainly. We never hide a loss.

Found a mistake?
If a price has moved or something in a post is wrong, tell us through the contact form. Name the post and the figure. We check it against the brand’s own page and correct the post.
The comparisons themselves are all on the Ringo blog.
