1 · Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Ringo eSIM service ("Ringo", "we", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the service.
These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the service, including digital nomads, travelers, and Pioneer Program members.
2 · Service Description
Ringo offers two things. Ringo Light, available now, is a data-only eSIM plan for the destination whose page you buy it on (a region such as Europe, or a single country), on partner networks. The full Ringo service, one plan that works everywhere, is in development: a global eSIM subscription with phone-number portability, so calls, SMS and data keep working on your existing number across 180+ countries. The Pioneer Program in section 3 and Ringo Light are how it is being funded.
Coverage, throughput, and feature availability vary by destination and plan. What "unlimited" means on a Ringo Light plan, and the fair use policy that applies to it, are set out in section 7 (Acceptable Use). We continuously work to expand and improve our partner network.
3 · Pioneer Program
The Pioneer Program is Ringo's founding-member program. From 17 September 2026 there are two ways to join it: by buying a Ringo Light Global plan of more than €15 (more than $15 where we bill in dollars, section 5), or by placing the €4.99 Pioneer pre-order set out in the table below. A qualifying Ringo Light purchase earns €5 of Ringo account credit, once per customer, applied to the first bill of the full Ringo service at launch and never redeemable against a Ringo Light data eSIM; the plan itself is paid in full at the price shown and is not discounted, and any other Ringo Light plan, including a regional, trip or single-country plan, is a plan only and does not join the program. The pre-order is refundable at any time before launch and returns €10 of first-bill credit. Every Pioneer, whichever way they joined, receives the Pioneer benefits set out below. Joining is optional and separate from the free waitlist: you do not need to pay anything to hold a waitlist place.
Backings at the four levels. Between 9 and 17 September 2026 the program was joined by any Ringo Light purchase, and between 17 September and 6 October 2026 by any Ringo Light plan of more than €15 (more than €10 between 17 and 28 September 2026), including a regional or single-country plan; those purchases keep their credit. Before 9 September it was a one-off backing at one of four levels; of these only the Pioneer level (the pre-order) is sold today, and every backing keeps the terms it was sold under, set out below, including its first-bill credit and refund rights.
Swipe to see all columns →
| Level | Amount | First-bill credit | Refundable |
|---|---|---|---|
| Backer | €1.99 (or any amount you choose) | €5 | 14-day right only |
| Pioneer | €4.99 | €10 | Any time before launch |
| Patron | €10 | €25 | 14-day right only |
| Ambassador | €90 | €230 | 14-day right only |
A backing at any level entitles you to:
- First-bill credit. The credit shown for your level is held against your account and applied automatically to your first bill once you activate a Ringo plan. In every case the credit is worth more than the amount you paid. Credit has no cash value and is not exchangeable for money.
- Waitlist priority. Backers are placed ahead of free waitlist sign-ups in the launch queue.
- Ambassador eligibility. Backers at every level are eligible for the Ambassador Program (see section 4).
Pioneer additionally receives a founding-member discount for 12 months (1 year) from the date of first plan activation, and Ambassador for 24 months (2 years), provided the account remains active and in good standing. The discount is non-transferable. Levels below Pioneer do not include it.
The Ambassador level additionally receives a listing on the founding members page, free access to the pre-launch alpha, a direct line to the founder, plus a Ringo swag bag shipped to a delivery address you confirm with us before launch. Alpha access and contact with the founder are provided on a best-efforts basis and do not guarantee any particular feature, response time or release date. Swag-bag fulfilment is subject to shipping availability in your country; where we cannot ship, we will offer equivalent account credit instead.
Refunds. Refundability by level is shown in the table above and set out in full in section 6. In short: every backing carries the statutory 14-day right to cancel, the Pioneer level additionally stays refundable on request at any time before launch, and the first-bill credit applies in every case. This is stated on the backing page before you pay.
Pioneer Program enrollment closes when general availability begins. The number of Pioneer spots is limited.
"Launch" means the date on which Ringo first makes a paid subscription plan generally available to new customers in at least one market. Where these terms promise something "before launch" or "at launch", that is the date meant. The Ringo swag bag at the Ambassador level is a physical item. You and we expressly agree a dispatch period of 90 days from the date you confirm a delivery address, which we will request before launch. This is longer than the 30-day default that would otherwise apply under regulation 42 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and by placing a backing at this level you agree to it. If we cannot dispatch within that period we will tell you and you may treat the swag-bag element as cancelled and take equivalent account credit instead.
Backing is not an investment. It is a prepayment toward a future consumer telecommunications service plus the founding-member benefits listed above. The Pioneer Program is reward-based: you receive account credit and founding-member benefits, never equity, shares, securities, interest, profit share or any financial return. Account credit is redeemable against Ringo service only, has no cash value and is not transferable or exchangeable for money. Ringo is a private company and backings are not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
If we do not launch. If Ringo has not launched within 18 months of the date you place a backing, we will refund that backing in full, to the payment method you used, without you needing to ask us. This applies at every level, including the levels that are otherwise non-refundable, and it is in addition to your statutory rights. If we decide before then that we will not be launching at all, we will refund every backing at that point rather than waiting out the 18 months.
Pre-launch risk. Ringo is not yet generally available. Building and launching a mobile service depends on network partnerships, regulatory approvals and other factors, and timelines can move. If Ringo were to cease trading before launch, backers would rank as unsecured creditors. Back only what you are comfortable committing on that basis.
Founding-pricing fine print. The founding-member discount applies for 12 months from the date of first plan activation at the Pioneer level, and for 24 months at the Ambassador level. At the end of that window the subscription renews at the then-current standard rates published on the Pricing page; we will email you at least 30 days before it expires so you have time to review the rate change. Pausing or cancelling your subscription does not extend the window. Reactivating an account after the window has closed does not restore the founding rate.
4 · Ambassador Program
Active Pioneer Program members may opt in to the Ambassador Program and earn:
- €5 in account credit for each successful referral who activates a paid plan.
- One free 3-month plan for the Ambassador with the most successful referrals in each calendar month (the monthly top referrer).
- Priority support.
Separately, any waitlist member who refers 5 or more people may claim a free Pioneer Program spot at the Pioneer level, with the payment waived.
A "successful referral" means a person who signs up via the member's unique referral link, activates a paid plan, and remains an active paying customer for at least 30 days. The free-spot claim counts any referred sign-up. Self-referrals, duplicate accounts, and fraudulent sign-ups are excluded.
Rewards are issued as account credit or plan time, and are non-transferable, non-refundable, and have no cash value. If two or more Ambassadors tie for the monthly top spot, the one who reached the tying count first wins. Ringo reserves the right to modify or terminate these programs with 30 days' notice.
5 · Account Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create a Ringo account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as necessary.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
6 · Billing, Refunds & Cancellation
Plans are billed in advance. The Global plan is the only Ringo Light subscription: it is billed monthly and renews every month until you cancel. Every other Ringo Light plan, a region or a single country, is a trip plan of 2 weeks or 30 days: one payment that never renews. A top-up, bought by you or added automatically (section 7), is a single charge. A Pioneer Program backing is a single one-off charge and never renews. All prices are shown before you pay and include any tax due; nothing is added at checkout.
Your 14-day right to cancel. Because you sign up online, your purchase is a distance contract under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. You have the right to cancel within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day you enter into the contract — for a Pioneer Program backing at any level, 14 days after the day you place it. To cancel, tell us in a clear statement before the period ends: email legal@ringoesim.com, use our contact page, or use the model cancellation form below. For a Ringo Light data eSIM this right ends as soon as your eSIM is issued, at your request, as set out under Ringo Light plans below.
Refunds within the 14-day period. If you cancel within the cancellation period, we refund all payments received from you, in full. We do not deduct payment-processing fees, currency-conversion costs, or any other charge. We make the refund using the same payment method you used for the original transaction, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you tell us you are cancelling. We will not begin supplying any paid service to you during the cancellation period unless you expressly ask us to, so your right to a full refund is preserved throughout, at every backing level — before launch no service is supplied, so a backing is always refunded in full during this period.
After the 14-day period. Once the cancellation period has passed we do not offer change-of-mind refunds, with two exceptions: a backing at the Pioneer level remains refundable on request at any time before launch, and every backing at every level is refunded in full if we do not launch within 18 months (see section 3). Backings at the Backer, Patron and Ambassador levels are not refundable once the cancellation period ends. Nothing is lost in either case: the first-bill credit for your level is held against your account and applied automatically toward your first bill once you activate a Ringo plan. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — for example, your rights where a service is faulty, not as described, or not supplied — which continue to apply.
You may cancel the Global plan at any time. Outside the 14-day cancellation right above, cancellation takes effect at the end of the month already paid for: no further monthly charge is taken, you keep the data and the days you have paid for, and no partial refund is issued for time already used. A trip plan does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel; it simply ends when its 2 weeks or 30 days are over.
Ringo Light plans and top-ups. The Global plan is a monthly plan at the rate shown when you buy: each month is charged automatically to the payment method you used, and it renews month by month at the same rate until you cancel, effective at the end of the month already paid for. A trip plan (a region or a single country, 2 weeks or 30 days) is paid once and does not renew. A day pass (3, 7, 15 or 30 days) or a Power Use plan, where one is sold, is paid once and does not renew. Automatic top-ups are charged to the payment card you used, each time one is added, as set out in section 7; you can switch them off from your dashboard. The full amount of the plan, and the price of each top-up, are shown before you pay. A Ringo Light plan bought before 26 September 2026 on a term that is no longer sold (a monthly country plan, or a 2, 6 or 12-month regional plan) keeps the billing terms it was sold under.
No refund once your eSIM is issued. A Ringo Light eSIM is digital content, and we issue it as soon as you pay. By paying, and agreeing to these Terms at the Pay button, you expressly ask us to issue your eSIM straight away, and you acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once your eSIM has been issued. We confirm this in the email that delivers your eSIM. From the moment it is issued, the plan and any extra data you buy for it are not refundable, whether or not you have installed or used the eSIM, and data left unused when a plan or a month ends is not refunded. Extra data works the same way, whether you buy it yourself or it is added automatically: you lose the right to cancel it once it has been added to your eSIM. Cancelling the Global plan stops the charges for the months after the one already paid for; it does not refund that month. If we cannot deliver a working eSIM, you get your money back. If your eSIM has not been delivered within 24 hours of your payment, we refund what you paid in full, automatically, without you needing to ask. If our network partner confirms a service issue with your eSIM (for example it cannot be installed or will not connect because of a fault on the network), we refund what you paid for that plan in full. None of this affects your other statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, where a service is faulty, not as described, or not supplied. Anything we choose to offer beyond those rights, as a goodwill gesture, is issued as Ringo account credit. App Store purchases. Refunds for plans bought in the Ringo iPhone app through the Apple App Store are handled by Apple under its own policy; you can ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. A Global plan bought in the Ringo iPhone app through the Apple App Store carries no minimum term: it renews through your Apple ID until you cancel in Settings, at least 24 hours before a renewal, and you keep the period already paid for. A Global plan bought in the Ringo iPhone app by card or Apple Pay also carries no minimum term: it renews every month until you turn renewal off in the app, and you keep the month already paid for. Every other plan bought in the app is a single purchase that does not renew.

7 · Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Ringo for unlawful purposes, including but not limited to: spam, robocalls, fraud, harassment, or any activity that violates local telecommunications law in your country of use.
Fair use policy. Data plans, including unlimited plans, are intended for normal personal and business use (browsing, streaming, video calls). Fair-use rules exist to prevent abuse such as commercial reselling, tethered server hosting, or automated data scraping.
What "unlimited" means. The Global plan and every trip plan are sold as unlimited data. On a Ringo Light plan, unlimited means three things. (a) Full speed: we never slow your connection down and there is no daily cap. (b) A starting allowance: the plan starts with the data shown when you buy, for example 10GB on a 2-week trip, 20GB on a 30-day trip, or 10GB a month on the Global plan. (c) Automatic top-up: each time you have used 90% of your data we add 10GB to your eSIM, so your data does not run out. Each added 10GB is charged to the payment card you used, at the top-up price shown when you buy (on the Global plan, the per-10GB member rate); it is not included in the plan price. Up to five top-ups are added in each plan period, which is the length of a trip plan or each month of the Global plan. After the fifth, no more data is added automatically until the next period, and you can buy more yourself at any time. If you switch automatic top-up off, or a top-up charge fails, your data can run out before the period ends. Unlimited plans are subject to the fair use policy above.
Ringo Light data allowance. Data is delivered to your eSIM as a data package for your trip, or for each month of the Global plan. Unused data does not carry over to another plan or another month. Additional full-speed data is available as a top-up at any time at the top-up price shown on the page. Where a Ringo Light Unlimited or Power Use day pass is sold (3, 7, 15 or 30 days), it provides data at full speed up to the daily amount shown on the page when you buy (for example 3GB or 5GB each day), after which speed is reduced until the daily reset; it is a single payment and is not topped up. A Power Use 30-day plan is a data package for your trip like any other, with a larger allowance before the first automatic top-up.
Credit and Ringo Light. Ringo Light data eSIMs are paid in full at the price shown. Pioneer Program first-bill credit, referral credit and any other Ringo account credit are held for the full Ringo service (section 3) and are never applied to Ringo Light plans, top-ups or automatic top-ups. Buying a Ringo Light data eSIM of more than €15 (more than $15 where we bill in dollars) earns €5 of Ringo account credit, once per customer, held against the email you bought with and applied to your first bill when the full Ringo service launches; a plan of €15 or less earns none. Credit has no cash value and is not exchangeable for money.
Automatic top-up. On every Ringo Light plan except a day pass, each time you have used 90% of your data (including any top-ups already added) we add 10GB, charge the payment card you used at the top-up price shown when you bought (the per-10GB member rate on the Global plan), and email you; we also email you a heads-up once you have used 80%. This happens up to five times per plan period; after the fifth top-up no more data is added automatically until your next period. If a charge fails we do not retry it that period. By buying a plan you agree to these charges. You can switch automatic top-up off, or back on, from your dashboard at any time, or by replying to any Ringo email; with it off your data can run out and stop until the next period. A top-up already added is not refundable except as the law requires (section 6).
8 · Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; and (c) any breach of the statutory rights given to you under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including our duty to supply services with reasonable care and skill and the cancellation and refund rights described in section 6.
We strive for 99.9% network uptime across our partner networks but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Subject to the paragraph above, we are not liable for loss or damage that is not a foreseeable result of our breach — including indirect or consequential loss, lost data, missed calls, or 2FA delivery failures — arising from your use of the service.
If you are a consumer, we remain responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Subject to the first paragraph of this section, our total aggregate liability for any other claim is limited to the amount you paid to Ringo in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9 · Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not accept a material change, you may cancel under section 6 before it takes effect.
10 · Governing law & your rights
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and nothing in these Terms affects your right to rely on those mandatory provisions. Legal proceedings may be brought in the courts of England and Wales; if you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom or in the European Union, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
