4 · What to do in Andorra, and what your phone needs for it

Eight places most first trips include, from the capital and its spa to the ski slopes, a UNESCO valley and the high lakes, with the one thing your data does for you at each. Andorra has no airport of its own: most people arrive by road from Barcelona or Toulouse, and your eSIM should be working before you reach the border.

5 · If you want unlimited for two weeks or a month: Ubigi first, then a close pack

Most trips to Andorra are a ski weekend or a week of hiking, but people who come for a season stay a month or more. For 15 days, Saily asks $48.99, Airalo $49 and Holafly $50.50. Ringo Light charges $48.99 for 2 weeks, level with Saily. Ubigi's Europe plan, which covers Andorra, is cheaper than all of us at $35 for 30 GB at full speed, then 2 Mbps.

For a month the order turns against us. Ubigi's Europe plan is $62 for 60 GB at full speed, Saily $71.99, Airalo $72 and Holafly $73.90. Ringo Light charges $93.99 for 30 days, about $20 more than the unlimited plans and $31.99 more than Ubigi. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.

Read what unlimited means before you pick. Airalo and Saily give 3 GB a day at full speed, then slow you down. Ubigi gives a fixed amount, then 2 Mbps. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone and limits sharing to 1 GB a day. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks or 30 days.

For a short trip, Ringo Light sells no 3-day or 7-day plan. Airalo and Holafly sell 3 days of unlimited at $12.50, and Ubigi's Europe plan gives 25 GB at full speed for 7 days at $23.

6 · One network, and why EU roaming does not cover Andorra

Andorra has one mobile network, Andorra Telecom, and every eSIM on this page rides it. It covers the towns along the main valley, the ski areas and the roads well, with 5G in the towns. Signal thins out in the high side valleys and on the trails near the lakes, so download offline maps before you walk.

Andorra sits between France and Spain and uses the euro, but it is not in the European Union or the European Economic Area. The EU rule that lets you roam at home prices does not apply there. Your phone switches to Andorra Telecom the moment you cross the border, and many French, Spanish and other EU plans bill that as a separate zone. Many Europe travel eSIMs leave Andorra out too, our own Europe trip included. Check that your plan names Andorra before you drive up.

  • Ubigi, $14 for 10 GB. The cheapest 10 GB for 30 days by $10, on Andorra Telecom, installed by QR code, no app needed. Its Europe plan sells 25 GB for 30 days at $29, the cheapest large bucket here.
  • Saily, $23.99 for 10 GB. 20 GB at $38.99. Its listing is from June; saily.com would not load for us.
  • Airalo, $24 for 10 GB. 20 GB for $39, buckets from $4 for 1 GB over 3 days. The app is needed.
  • Nomad, $39 for 10 GB. 20 GB for $49 on Andorra Telecom. Nomad sells no unlimited for Andorra.
