1 · The short answer
Six travel eSIMs get most of the traffic for this search, and five of them sell a plan that works in the Gambia. We checked all six on the same day, for a week on the coast at Kololi, two weeks up the river to Janjanbureh, and a month, and read the fine print on unlimited. In the Gambia we are the most expensive of the six by a long way, and this page says plainly who is cheaper.
Unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks at $234.99 or 30 days at $466.99, one payment each, nothing renews. It is expensive: Airalo's Discover unlimited costs $96 for 15 days, $138.99 less, and Ubigi's Best Africa plan $129 for 30 days, $337.99 less.

2 · The prices, charted
One payment, US dollars, 28 September 2026. Ringo Light sells 2 weeks, Airalo 15 days on its Discover global plan, 3 GB a day, then 1 Mbps. Nomad and Saily sell no unlimited for the Gambia, and Ubigi no 15-day plan.
The 30-day plan at each brand that sells one. Ubigi's is its Best Africa regional plan, 60 GB at full speed, then 2 Mbps. Airalo's is Discover, 3 GB a day, then 1 Mbps.
Saily sells only 1 GB for the Gambia. Airalo's 10 GB is its Discover global bucket, valid 180 days. Ringo Light sells no bucket: its 2 weeks is unlimited and lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days.

4 · What to do in the Gambia, and what your phone needs for it
Eight places most first trips include, from Banjul and the coast at Bakau, Kololi and Bijilo to the forests inland and up the river to Kunta Kinteh Island and Janjanbureh, with the one thing your data does for you at each. The coast has good 4G; the river often does not. The dry season, from about November to May, is the main season to visit.
5 · If you want unlimited: Airalo or Ubigi, not us
Most Gambia trips are a week or two on the coast between Banjul, Bakau, Kololi and Bijilo, with a day on the river. No brand sells unlimited data for the Gambia alone. Airalo's Discover global plan covers it with unlimited days: $96 for 15 days and $159 for 30. Ubigi's Best Africa regional plan gives 60 GB at full speed for 30 days, then 2 Mbps, for $129. Ringo Light charges $234.99 for 2 weeks and $466.99 for 30 days, one payment each, nothing renews.
That makes us the most expensive of the six in the Gambia, by a lot. Our 2 weeks costs $138.99 more than Airalo's 15 days, and our 30 days $337.99 more than Ubigi's month. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.
Read what unlimited means before you pick. Airalo's Discover gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps, which is 45 GB over 15 days. Ubigi gives 60 GB for the month, then 2 Mbps. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed, for 2 weeks or 30 days.
For a short trip, Ringo Light sells no 3-day or 7-day plan. Airalo's Discover sells 3 days of unlimited at $24 and a week at $45.
6 · Africell, Qcell, Comium, and the border with Senegal
The Gambia has four mobile networks: Africell, Qcell, Comium and the state operator Gamcel. Airalo and Nomad ride Comium; Ubigi uses Africell and Qcell, 4G only; Saily does not name its network. Africell and Qcell are the two most widely used. All of them cover Banjul, Serekunda and the coast from Bakau down to Brufut well. Up the river past Farafenni signal gets patchier, so download maps before you head for Janjanbureh.
The Gambia is a thin strip of land inside Senegal, and many trips cross the border, to the Sine-Saloum delta or to Dakar. A Gambia country plan, ours included, stops at the border. 7 · If you want a data bucket: Ubigi
- Ubigi, $26 for 10 GB. For 30 days on Africell and Qcell, the cheapest 10 GB here. Smaller sizes too: 1 GB for 7 days at $6, 3 GB for 15 days at $12. Its listing is from 17 September, and its own Gambia page showed only the 1 GB plan on the day, so check the size at checkout.
- Nomad, $35 for 10 GB. For 30 days on Comium, or 3 GB at $19 and 5 GB at $27.
- Airalo, $44 for 5 GB. Its Comium line tops out at 5 GB for 30 days. Its Discover global plan sells 10 GB for 180 days at $57 and 20 GB for 365 days at $66, useful if the Gambia is one stop of several.
- Saily, $29.99 for 1 GB. Its only Gambia plan, for 7 days. Its listing is from May; saily.com would not load for us.

Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.
We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
