For a month we are not the cheapest: our 30 days is $88.99, and Saily's Global plan ($59.99) and Ubigi's Europe Extended ($77) cost less, each with a fixed amount at full speed.
Holafly: Cheapest unlimited for 3 or 7 days. A Kosovo plan in days, not gigabytes, with no daily cap stated for your own phone: $20.90 for 3 days and $36.90 for a week, on IPKO. Sharing limited to 1 GB a day.
Ubigi: Cheapest 10 GB. 10 GB for 30 days at $29 on IPKO, and its Europe Extended plan gives 60 GB at full speed for 30 days at $77, then 2 Mbps.
Saily: Cheapest month, on a global plan. Its Global plan is $59.99 for 30 days: 30 GB at full speed, then 1 Mbps. Saily sells no Kosovo unlimited, and its listing is from June.

Kosovo is small, and most visitors come for a long weekend or a week, often as part of a Balkans loop. Unlimited data is dear here. Only Holafly sells a Kosovo unlimited plan: $69.90 for 15 days and $112.90 for 30. Airalo sells no Kosovo unlimited; its Discover global plan asks $96 for 15 days and $159 for the month. Ubigi's Europe Extended plan is $59 for 15 days with 30 GB at full speed. Ringo Light charges $44.99 for 2 weeks, one payment, nothing renews, the cheapest two weeks here.
For a month the order changes. Saily's Global plan is $59.99 for 30 days, with 30 GB at full speed and 1 Mbps after that, and Ubigi's Europe Extended is $77 for 60 GB at full speed, then 2 Mbps. Our 30 days is $88.99, $29 more than Saily and $12 more than Ubigi. It is $23.91 less than Holafly's month and $70.01 less than Airalo's. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.
Read what unlimited means before you pick. Airalo's Discover gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. Ubigi gives a fixed amount at full speed, then 2 Mbps. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone and limits sharing to 1 GB a day. Ringo Light has no speed cap: the 2 weeks starts with 10 GB and the 30 days with 20 GB, and when you have used 80% we add 10 GB once and charge the $44.99 top-up. A heavy two weeks with us costs $89.98, more than Holafly's $69.90 for 15 days; a heavy month costs $133.98, more than Holafly's $112.90. If you stream every day, Holafly is the better buy in Kosovo.
For a short trip, Ringo Light sells no 3-day or 7-day plan. Holafly sells 3 days of unlimited at $20.90 and a week at $36.90, both less than our 2 weeks.
Kosovo has two main mobile networks, Vala and IPKO. Both cover Pristina, Prizren, Peja and the main roads well. Signal thins in the mountains of the west and south, in the Rugova valley and the Sharr range, whichever network you are on. Nearly every travel eSIM here rides IPKO; Airalo also lists Vala, and Holafly lists IPKO and Monaco Telecom.
Kosovo uses the euro but is not in the EU, and EU roam like at home does not cover it. Many European plans put Kosovo in a far roaming zone and charge by the megabyte. Turn the travel eSIM on for data before you cross the border, and switch data roaming off on your home line.

What to do in Kosovo, and what your phone needs for it. Eight places most first trips include, from Pristina and Prizren to the monasteries and mountains of the west, with the one thing your data does for you at each. The country is small: most of these are an hour or two by road from Pristina. The towns have good 4G; up in the gorges, plan for gaps.
The National Library, Pristina. A 1980s building wrapped in a metal lattice under dozens of small domes, on the university campus a short walk from the pedestrian Mother Teresa Boulevard. The centre of the capital is compact and easy to see in a day. Save the library, the boulevard and your hotel as pins and walk between them; the centre is too small to need a car.
The old town, Prizren. An Ottoman stone bridge over the Bistrica river, the Sinan Pasha Mosque beside it and a fortress on the hill above. Climb to the fortress in the evening for the view over the red roofs. Dokufest, the documentary film festival, fills the town every August. Book your room on your phone well ahead.
Gracanica Monastery, Gracanica, near Pristina. A fourteenth century Serbian Orthodox monastery church with painted interiors, part of the Medieval Monuments in Kosovo World Heritage Site. It is a short drive or bus ride from Pristina. Many signs in the town are in Cyrillic. Camera translation on your phone reads them.
Novo Brdo fortress, Novo Brdo, east of Pristina. The ruins of a medieval fortress on a hilltop, above what was once a rich silver mining town. Go on a clear day for the view over the hills. Buses out here are few. Check the route and the drive time in maps before you set off.
The Rugova Canyon, West of Peja. A deep gorge that the road follows up from Peja into the Accursed Mountains, with hiking trails, a via ferrata and mountain villages. Late spring to autumn is the time for walking. Signal fades in the gorge and on the high trails. Download the offline map before you leave Peja.
The Patriarchate of Pec, Peja. A group of red painted medieval churches at the mouth of the Rugova gorge, part of the same World Heritage Site as Gracanica and Decani. Modest dress is expected inside. The town is Peja in Albanian and Pec in Serbian. Search both names if your map finds only one.
Visoki Decani Monastery, Near Decan. A fourteenth century monastery church in pale marble, known for its frescoes, set in a wooded valley below the mountains. Dress with covered shoulders and knees. Bring your passport: visitors show ID at the gate.
The Mirusha waterfalls, Between Klina and Malisheva. A chain of waterfalls and small lakes in a limestone canyon in the middle of the country. Summer is the time to swim; after heavy rain the path gets muddy. Download the offline map before you walk down into the canyon, and note where you parked.
