Prices read on 28 September 2026. Six travel eSIMs get most of the traffic for this search. Five of them sell something that works on Sint Maarten, the Dutch side of the island, some with a plan for Sint Maarten and some with a Caribbean or world plan; Holafly sells only the French side. We priced all five on the same day, for a long weekend, two weeks on the beaches and a month, read the fine print on unlimited, and checked which plans also work across the border in French Saint Martin. Here is where each one wins.
Ringo Light: Cheapest unlimited for two weeks or a month. Unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks at $50.99 or 30 days at $95.99, one payment each, nothing renews. Ubigi asks $75 for 15 days with 30 GB at full speed, and $108 for a month of 60 GB.
Ubigi: Cheapest week, and both sides of the island. Its Caribbean plan lists Sint Maarten and French Saint Martin: 7 days with 20 GB at full speed for $44, then 2 Mbps, and 10 GB for 30 days at $34.
Airalo: Cheapest 3 days of unlimited. Its Island Hopper plan covers 26 Caribbean countries, both sides of the island included: 3 days at $19.50, 3 GB a day at full speed. Its own Sint Maarten plan sells buckets only, on Telcell.
Nomad: Cheapest 20 GB, tied cheapest 10 GB. 10 GB for 30 days at $34 and 20 GB at $49 on its plan for Sint Maarten and Curacao, on FLOW. No unlimited plan.

Most trips to Sint Maarten are a week or two in Simpson Bay, Maho or Philipsburg, and data is what you use for maps, WhatsApp with taxis, boats and restaurants, and streaming in the evening. For about two weeks of unlimited, Ubigi asks $75 for 30 GB at full speed on its Caribbean plan, and Airalo $96 on its Discover global plan or $99 on Island Hopper. For a month, $108 at Ubigi and $159 at Airalo. Saily and Nomad sell no unlimited here. Ringo Light charges $50.99 for 2 weeks and $95.99 for 30 days, one payment each, nothing renews.
Read what unlimited means before you pick. Airalo gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. Ubigi gives 20 GB for 7 days, 30 GB for 15 days or 60 GB for the month, then 2 Mbps. Ringo Light has no speed cap: the 2 weeks starts with 10 GB and the 30 days with 20 GB, and when you have used 80% we add 10 GB once and charge the $50.99 top-up. A heavy two weeks with us costs $101.98, more than Ubigi's 15 days at $75 and Airalo's at $96. A heavy month costs $146.98, more than Ubigi's $108 and less than Airalo's $159. If you will use more than 10 GB in two weeks, Ubigi is the better buy here.
For a short trip, Ringo Light sells no 3-day or 7-day plan. Airalo sells 3 days of unlimited at $19.50, and Ubigi a week with 20 GB at full speed at $44, $6.99 less than our 2 weeks.
The island is split between Sint Maarten, the Dutch south, and Saint Martin, the French north. The border is open, and most visitors cross it for lunch in Grand Case or the market in Marigot without noticing. Your phone notices: the two sides have their own networks, and travel eSIMs treat them as two countries.
Here is what each brand states. Airalo's Sint Maarten plan lists Sint Maarten only; its Island Hopper lists both. Saily's Sint Maarten plan lists Sint Maarten only; its Caribbean Islands plan lists both. Nomad's plans list Sint Maarten but not Saint Martin. Ubigi's Caribbean and world plans list both. Holafly's Saint Martin plan says it does not include Sint Maarten. Ringo Light's Sint Maarten trip works across Sint Maarten only, and our Caribbean trip covers Sint Maarten but not Saint Martin. On a one-side plan, expect data to drop when your phone can only find the other side's networks.

Sint Maarten is small and hilly, and the networks cover Philipsburg, Simpson Bay, Maho and the main beaches well. Airalo's plans for the island ride Telcell, Ubigi lists Telcell and UTS, and Nomad FLOW; Saily does not name its network.
US dollars are taken almost everywhere, and most restaurants and hotels take cards. Taxis are the usual way around, booked by phone or at the stands; agree the fare before you get in.
Nomad, $34 for 10 GB. On its plan for Sint Maarten and Curacao, on FLOW, and the cheapest 20 GB for 30 days at $49 that does not renew. It does not list the French side.
Ubigi, $34 for 10 GB. On its Caribbean plan, which also works on the French side. Its World plan sells 20 GB a month for $44, but it renews every month until you stop it.
Saily, $46.99 for 10 GB. On its Caribbean Islands plan; its own Sint Maarten plan stops at 1 GB for 7 days at $7.99. Its listing is from May; saily.com would not load for us.
Airalo, $48 for 10 GB. On its Island Hopper plan, or $49 on its Sint Maarten plan, which starts at 1 GB for 3 days at $8.

What to do in Sint Maarten, and what your phone needs for it. Eight places most first trips to the Dutch side include, from Maho Beach at the end of the runway to Philipsburg and the border with French Saint Martin, with the one thing your data does for you at each. Signal is good almost everywhere; the tips are mostly about flights, cruise days, bridges and the border.
Maho Beach, Next to Princess Juliana airport. Planes come in to land low over the sand at the end of the runway, from small island hoppers to wide-body jets. A flight tracking app shows which arrivals are due and when, so you are on the beach for the big ones. Keep away from the fence at take-off: the jet blast is strong enough to throw people.
Front Street, Philipsburg. The main street of the capital, lined with old wooden houses turned into shops and duty-free stores, one block back from the beach. Front Street is busiest when several cruise ships are in port. Check the day's ship schedule online and come on a quieter day.
Great Bay Beach and the boardwalk, Philipsburg. A curve of sand in front of the town with a boardwalk of bars and restaurants behind it and the cruise pier at its western end. Prices are often in US dollars and cards are widely taken; carry a little cash for small stands and beach loungers.
Fort Amsterdam, Between Great Bay and Little Bay. The ruins of a Dutch fort from the 1630s on the headland west of Philipsburg, with old cannon and views over both bays. The path is short but exposed. Look up the weather before you go and bring water; there is nothing to buy on the headland.
Simpson Bay Lagoon, Simpson Bay. A large lagoon shared by both sides of the island, lined with marinas, yachts and waterfront restaurants. The Simpson Bay drawbridge opens for boats at set times and holds up the road to the airport. Check live traffic in your maps app before you drive to a flight.
Mullet Bay, West coast, near Maho. A long, sandy beach backed by palms, with calm water on most days and loungers and umbrellas for rent. Taxis are the usual way back. Save a taxi number in your phone before you go, and call it for the ride back.
Cole Bay Hill lookout, Above Cole Bay. The road over the hill between Simpson Bay and Philipsburg gives a view across the lagoon, the airport and the west of the island. The hill roads are steep and winding. Download the island in your maps app before you set off in a hire car.
The border monument, The road into French Saint Martin. An obelisk with both flags marks where Sint Maarten ends and Saint Martin begins; the island has been shared since a treaty in 1648. Past this point a Sint Maarten-only plan may lose data. Check that your plan lists Saint Martin before you drive on to Marigot or Grand Case.
