Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $9.50 and Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan. For a week, Airalo asks $21; Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan, and its 2 weeks at $22.99 costs $1.99 more than Airalo's week while covering twice the days. For a month, Airalo asks $49 and Ringo Light $32.99, so Ringo Light is $16.01 cheaper. Airalo is cheaper at the short end, Ringo Light at the month.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the only one of the two that sells it: 1 GB from $4, 5 GB from $7, 10 GB for 30 days at $11, 20 GB for 30 days at $18. Ringo Light sells no buckets. Its 2 weeks of unlimited at $22.99 costs $11.99 more than Airalo's 10 GB, and it lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. If you need a little data to last a whole month, Airalo's 10 GB is the better buy, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout. The 10 GB chart above shows the two side by side for that reason.
The week chart carries Ringo Light's 2 weeks against Airalo's 7 days, as the full comparison does, because Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan for Thailand. The month chart is like for like, 30 days at each.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Thailand gives 5 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. Five gigabytes covers maps, messages, social feeds and a couple of hours of video; a long evening of streaming in HD, or a laptop on the hotspot, will hit it. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days, with no daily figure. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Thailand
Thailand has three networks that matter: AIS, True and dtac. All three cover Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and the ferry ports well, with 5G in the cities where the network offers it. Airalo rides AIS and True, and its own page says so, which is a point for Airalo: you know which networks you will be on before you buy. Ringo Light rides a local partner network. For Bangkok, the north and the main islands, both work. If you must have dtac by name, neither is the brand; Holafly and Nomad list it in the full comparison.
Installation, app and support
Airalo's app is optional: you can buy on its site and install from the details it sends, or do it all inside the app, see how much data is left, and reach its support chat there. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. There is no balance to watch because there is no bucket. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang or Phuket.
What Ringo Light is, and what it is not
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Thailand it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $32.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it is not: it is data only, with no phone number, so calls go over apps that use data. It sells no buckets and no 3-day or 7-day plan. It names no network. There is no app and no balance screen, because there is nothing to count. If you want 10 GB to last a month, 3 days, a week, or AIS and True by name, Airalo is the better buy. For a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheaper of the two by $16.01.
