Airalo vs Nomad in one paragraph
For a data bucket, Nomad is cheaper: $19 for 10 GB against $23 at Airalo, a $4 gap, and $31 for 20 GB against $36, a $5 gap. For unlimited the two sell different lengths. Airalo sells 3, 7, 15 and 30 days, from $12 to $85. Nomad sells 5 days at $17 and 10 days at $31, and nothing longer, so a month of unlimited is Airalo or another brand. Both ride TIM and both need their app. Airalo slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day; Nomad slows after 2 GB. Pick Nomad for a bucket. Pick Airalo for a long weekend, a week or a month of unlimited. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $37.99 and 30 days at $64.99, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars. Unlimited: Airalo asks $12 for 3 days, $25 for 7, $46 for 15 and $85 for 30. Nomad asks $17 for 5 days and $31 for 10. Those are different lengths, so we do not call either one cheaper. Buckets, for 30 days: Nomad $19 for 10 GB and $31 for 20 GB, Airalo $23 and $36, so Nomad is cheaper by $4 and $5. Airalo also sells buckets from $4 for 1 GB.
Ringo Light sells two trips for Brazil: 2 weeks at $37.99 and 30 days at $64.99. The 2 weeks is $8.01 less than Airalo's 15 days; Nomad has no 15-day plan to compare. The 30 days is $20.01 less than Airalo's $85; Nomad sells no 30-day unlimited. Ringo Light sells no buckets, and its 2 weeks at $37.99 is $18.99 more than Nomad's 10 GB. For a fixed amount of data, buy Nomad or Airalo, not us.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Brazil gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps. Nomad gives 2 GB a day at full speed, then slower, and its unlimited stops at 10 days. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Brazil
Brazil has three national networks: Vivo, Claro and TIM. All three cover Rio, Sao Paulo, Salvador, Foz do Iguacu and most of the coast. Coverage thins out in the Amazon, on the dunes of Maranhao and on long roads through the interior, whichever network you are on. Airalo and Nomad both ride TIM. Ringo Light rides a local partner network. For the cities and the beaches, any of them works; for remote places, download offline maps before you go.
Installation, app and support
Airalo and Nomad both need their app: you buy, install and top up inside it. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Brazil it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $37.99 and 30 days at $64.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day or 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB for a month, Nomad at $19 is the better buy. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three where the brands sell the same length.
