Airalo vs Holafly in one paragraph
Airalo and Holafly charge the same $12.50 for 3 days of unlimited in Chile. From a week up, Airalo is cheaper: by $0.40 on the week, $0.50 on 15 days and $3.90 on the month. Holafly gives you the simpler product: unlimited days with no stated daily cap, on Movistar. Airalo gives you more choice, buckets from 1 GB at $4.50 as well as unlimited, on Movistar and WOM, but its unlimited slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. Pick Airalo if you want a bucket, a second network or the lowest price of the two. Pick Holafly if you stream all evening and never want to think about a daily cap. If the trip is two weeks or a month and you want unlimited, Ringo Light is cheaper than both: $44.99 for 2 weeks and $63.99 for 30 days, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 28 September 2026, in US dollars. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo and Holafly both ask $12.50. For a week, $27.50 at Airalo and $27.90 at Holafly. For 15 days, $50 at Airalo and $50.50 at Holafly. For 30 days, $92 at Airalo and $95.90 at Holafly. Airalo is cheaper in every row from a week up, by $0.40 on the week, $0.50 on 15 days and $3.90 on the month.
Ringo Light sells two trips for Chile: 2 weeks at $44.99 and 30 days at $63.99. The 2 weeks costs $5.01 less than Airalo's 15 days and $5.51 less than Holafly's. The 30 days costs $28.01 less than Airalo's month and $31.91 less than Holafly's. Ringo Light sells no 3-day or 7-day plan. For a long weekend or a single week, Airalo or Holafly is the cheaper buy: our 2 weeks costs $17.49 more than Airalo's 7 days and $17.09 more than Holafly's.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the only one of the three that sells it: 10 GB for 30 days at $28, 20 GB at $48, 1 GB from $4.50. Holafly sells no buckets. Ringo Light sells none either, so if 10 GB is all you need, Airalo's $28 is cheaper than our $44.99, and ours lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Chile, the Altoque plan, gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. That is enough for maps, messages and an hour or two of video; a long evening of streaming in HD will hit it. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone in Chile and limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day. It sells days, not gigabytes. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Chile
Chile has four national networks: Entel, Movistar, Claro and WOM. All four cover Santiago, Valparaiso and the towns of the central valley. Coverage thins on the desert roads of the Atacama, on the Carretera Austral and inside the Patagonian parks, whichever network you are on; on the trails of Torres del Paine there is almost none. For the cities any of them works; for the far north and the far south, download offline maps before you leave town.
Airalo rides Movistar and WOM. Holafly rides Movistar. Ringo Light rides a local partner network.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app: you buy and install inside it. Holafly's app is used for the data balance. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan. Install it at home on Wi-Fi before you fly and switch it on for data when you land in Santiago.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Chile it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $44.99 and 30 days at $63.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day or 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB for a month, Airalo at $28 is the better buy. If you want 3 days, Airalo or Holafly at $12.50 is cheaper than anything we sell. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is cheaper than both.
