Airalo vs Holafly in one paragraph

Airalo costs less than Holafly at every unlimited length they share, by $1 to $8.50. Holafly states no daily cap and installs from a QR code with no app. Only Airalo sells buckets. For two weeks or a month, Ringo Light costs less than both: $45.99 for 2 weeks and $56.99 for 30 days.

Price: the same trip at each

These are US dollars from 22 October 2026. Airalo is the cheaper of the two every time you line up the same length. Three days is $12.50 against $13.50 and a week is $27.50 against $28.50, a dollar apart each time. At 15 days it is $48.50 against $51.50, $3 apart, and at 30 days the gap opens to $8.50, with $92 against $100.50.

Ringo Light sells two trips here, 2 weeks at $45.99 and 30 days at $56.99. The two weeks undercuts Airalo's 15 days at $48.50 by $2.51 and Holafly's at $51.50 by $5.51. The month is the bigger win: $35.01 under Airalo's $92 and $43.51 under Holafly's $100.50. Where Ringo Light sells nothing, the other two win. A 3-day trip costs $12.50 or $13.50, and for a week both Airalo at $27.50 and Holafly at $28.50 cost less than our 2 weeks at $45.99.

Only Airalo sells data by the gigabyte: 10 GB for 30 days is $28 and 20 GB is $39. Holafly has no buckets, and neither does Ringo Light, whose $45.99 buys 2 weeks of unlimited rather than a fixed amount that lasts a month. If a set amount of data is what you want, Airalo is the one to buy.

What unlimited means at each

Airalo's unlimited gives you 3 GB a day at full speed. After that it drops to 1 Mbps until the day rolls over. Holafly states no daily cap on your own phone but holds hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day, and it sells days, never gigabytes. Ringo Light stays at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.

Networks and coverage in Colombia

Colombia has four networks. Claro is the largest and reaches furthest outside the cities, with Movistar, Tigo and WOM behind it. All four cover Bogota, Medellin, Cali and Cartagena. Holafly's own page warns that coverage can be weaker in the mountains, in the rainforest and on roads far from towns, for example on parts of the trek to the Lost City, and the same is true for every brand. If you are heading into the Sierra Nevada or Tayrona, download an offline map before you leave town.

Holafly rides Movistar. Airalo does not name its network on its page, and Ringo Light rides a local partner network.

Installation and app

Airalo works through its app: you buy, install and top up there. Holafly sends a QR code that you scan in your phone's settings, so there is no app. Ringo Light's eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, again with no app. Whichever you choose, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land in Bogota.

The cheaper third option: Ringo Light

Ringo Light is our own data eSIM. For Colombia it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $45.99 and 30 days at $56.99. You pay once, nothing renews and there is no app.

It is data only, so there is no phone number and calls go over apps that use data. There are no buckets and no 3-day or 7-day plan. If you want a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the better buy. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest plan on this page.
