Holafly vs Nomad in one paragraph
Holafly sells unlimited days and Nomad sells buckets, so nothing lines up. Holafly states no daily cap and installs from a QR code. Nomad is the only one with a fixed amount of data, 10 GB or 20 GB, and both ride Movistar. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light's $45.99 and $56.99 beat Holafly's 15 days at $51.50 and 30 days at $100.50.
Price: the same trip at each
These are US dollars from 22 October 2026. Nomad sells no unlimited plan for Colombia, so only Holafly has unlimited prices: $13.50 for 3 days, $28.50 for a week, $51.50 for 15 days and $100.50 for 30. With nothing to set against them, we call neither one cheaper.
Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $45.99 and 30 days at $56.99. The two weeks is $5.51 under Holafly's 15 days at $51.50, and the month is $43.51 under Holafly's $100.50. Ringo Light sells no 3-day or 7-day plan, so for a short trip Holafly wins: $13.50 for 3 days, and $28.50 for a week, which is well under our 2 weeks at $45.99.
Buckets are Nomad's side of the table: 10 GB for 30 days at $25 and 20 GB at $39. Holafly sells days, never gigabytes. Ringo Light has no buckets either, and its $45.99 buys 2 weeks of unlimited rather than a fixed amount that lasts a month. For a set amount of data, Nomad is the one to buy.
What unlimited means at each
Holafly states no daily cap on your own phone, but holds hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day. It sells days, so there are no buckets. Nomad has no unlimited plan for Colombia, so there is no daily speed to compare. Ringo Light stays at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Colombia
Colombia has four networks. Claro is the largest and reaches furthest outside the cities, with Movistar, Tigo and WOM behind it. All four cover Bogota, Medellin, Cali and Cartagena. Holafly's own page warns that coverage can be weaker in the mountains, in the rainforest and on roads far from towns, for example on parts of the trek to the Lost City, and the same is true for every brand. If you are heading into the Sierra Nevada or Tayrona, download an offline map before you leave town.
Holafly and Nomad both ride Movistar. Ringo Light rides a local partner network.
Installation and app
Holafly sends a QR code that you scan in your phone's settings, so there is no app. Nomad has an app, but it is optional. Ringo Light's eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, again with no app. Whichever you choose, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land in Bogota.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM. For Colombia it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $45.99 and 30 days at $56.99. You pay once, nothing renews and there is no app.
It is data only, so there is no phone number and calls go over apps that use data. There are no buckets and no 3-day or 7-day plan. If you want a fixed amount of data, Nomad is the better buy. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest plan on this page.
