Airalo vs Ringo Light in one paragraph

Ringo Light costs less for unlimited at the two lengths it sells: $2.51 less for two weeks and $35.01 less for the month. It also stays at full speed, where Airalo slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. Airalo wins what Ringo Light does not sell: 3 days, a week, and buckets that last 30 days. Choose on the trip, since the lengths do the deciding.

Price: the same trip at each

These are US dollars from 22 October 2026. For 3 days of unlimited Airalo asks $12.50, and Ringo Light has no 3-day plan. For a week Airalo asks $27.50. Ringo Light has no 7-day plan either, and its 2 weeks at $45.99 costs more than Airalo's week. Near two weeks, Airalo's 15 days is $48.50 and Ringo Light's 2 weeks is $45.99, $2.51 less. For a month Airalo asks $92 and Ringo Light $56.99, which is $35.01 less.

Only Airalo sells data by the gigabyte: 10 GB for 30 days at $28 and 20 GB at $39. Ringo Light's 2 weeks of unlimited at $45.99 costs $17.99 more than Airalo's 10 GB, and it lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. If you need a little data to last the whole month, Airalo's 10 GB is the better buy, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout. That is why the 10 GB chart shows the two side by side.

The two-week chart sets Ringo Light's 2 weeks against Airalo's 15 days, the nearest lengths, as the full comparison does. The month chart is like for like, with 30 days at each.

What unlimited means at each

Airalo's unlimited gives you 3 GB a day at full speed and then 1 Mbps until the day rolls over. That is enough for maps, messages, photos and an hour or two of video. A long evening of HD streaming will hit it, and a laptop on the hotspot will hit it sooner. Ringo Light has no daily figure and stays at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.

Networks and coverage in Colombia

Colombia has four networks. Claro is the largest and reaches furthest outside the cities, with Movistar, Tigo and WOM behind it. All four cover Bogota, Medellin, Cali and Cartagena. Holafly's own page warns that coverage can be weaker in the mountains, in the rainforest and on roads far from towns, for example on parts of the trek to the Lost City, and the same is true for every brand. If you are heading into the Sierra Nevada or Tayrona, download an offline map before you leave town.

Airalo does not name its network on its page. Ringo Light rides a local partner network, as the full comparison says.

Installation, app and support

Airalo works through its app: you buy, install and top up there. Ringo Light's eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan from the QR code. With no bucket there is no balance to watch. Whichever you choose, install it at home on Wi-Fi before you fly and switch it on for data when you land in Bogota.

What Ringo Light is, and what it is not

Ringo Light is our own data eSIM. For Colombia it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $45.99 and 30 days at $56.99. You pay once, nothing renews and there is no app.

It is data only, so there is no phone number and calls go over apps that use data. It sells no buckets, no 3-day plan and no 7-day plan, and there is no balance screen because there is nothing to count. If you want 10 GB to last a month, or a short plan, Airalo is the better buy. For unlimited at two weeks or a month, Ringo Light is the cheaper of the two.

The comparison of all the brands for Colombia, with Holafly, Saily, Nomad and Ubigi priced the same day, is at /blog/best-esim-for-colombia. The card to buy Ringo Light is further up this page, just after the side-by-side table.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ringo Light cheaper than Airalo for Colombia?+

Does Ringo Light have a data limit?+
No daily figure. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days, under a fair use policy in the Terms.
Which network does each use in Colombia?+
