Airalo vs Nomad in one paragraph
Nomad has no unlimited plan for Kazakhstan, so these two only meet on buckets. There they tie at $18 for 10 GB, then Nomad is cheaper by $3 on 20 GB and by $14 on 50 GB. Airalo's edge is that it sells unlimited, from 3 days to 30, on Kcell with 5G. It slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day, and you need its app. Nomad rides Beeline and its app is optional.
For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the one to look at, at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars. Airalo is the only one with unlimited: $12.50 for 3 days, $26.50 for 7, $49 for 15 and $72 for 30. Nomad sells none.
On buckets the two tie at 10 GB for 30 days, $18 each. At 20 GB Nomad asks $25 and Airalo $28, and at 50 GB Nomad asks $35 and Airalo $49. Ringo Light sells no bucket. Against its 2 weeks at $22.99, the $18 bucket is $4.99 lower at either brand. Against its 30 days at $35.99, Airalo's $28 is $7.99 lower and Nomad's $25 is $10.99 lower. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.
Ringo Light sells two trips: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99, both unlimited data at full speed. The 2 weeks costs less than Airalo's 15 days at $49 and less than its 7 days at $26.50. The 30 days costs about half of Airalo's $72. There is no 3-day plan, so for a long weekend Airalo at $12.50 is the one to buy.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited gives you 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. Nomad sells no unlimited for Kazakhstan. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan has three mobile networks: Kcell, which also sells the Activ brand, Beeline, and Tele2, which runs together with Altel. All three cover Almaty, Astana, Shymkent and the main highways. Between cities the steppe is empty for hours, and coverage drops out for long stretches on the road and on the train. In the mountains above Almaty, at the lakes and in the canyons, signal is patchy on every network, so save offline maps before you leave the city.
Airalo uses Kcell with 5G and Tele2 as a backup, Nomad uses Beeline, and Ringo Light rides a local partner network.
Kazakhstan sits far from the European Union, so a European phone plan roams here at full price. Check yours before you land.
Installation and app
Airalo needs its app, where you buy and install. Nomad treats its app as optional. Ringo Light needs none, as the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, with support by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch on data when you land.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM. For Kazakhstan it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day or 7-day plan, no phone number. It is data only, so calls go over apps that use data. For a fixed bucket, 10 GB at $18 from Airalo or Nomad is cheaper than our 2 weeks at $22.99.

Which to pick
- ✓Ringo Light, if you want unlimited for two weeks or a month. $22.99 for 2 weeks or $35.99 for 30 days, unlimited data at full speed, each below Airalo's price at 15 and 30 days.
- Airalo, if you want a fixed bucket or unlimited days from one brand, on Kcell with 5G, and do not mind its app. Unlimited on Kcell with 5G from $12.50 for 3 days up to $72 for 30, at 3 GB a day and then 1 Mbps, or 10 GB for 30 days at $18, 20 GB at $28, 50 GB at $49 and 1 GB from $4. The app is required.
- Nomad, if you know how much data you need and want a bucket, not unlimited. Buckets only, on Beeline: 10 GB for 30 days at $18, 20 GB at $25 and 50 GB at $35. No unlimited.
Pick by trip
Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan, so take Airalo unlimited for 3 days at $12.50.

Ringo Light unlimited, 30 days, $35.99, where Airalo asks $72.
Airalo or Nomad, 10 GB for 30 days at $18 each. Ringo Light sells no bucket.
None of these plans gives you a phone number. They are data only, and calls go over apps that use data.

How we compared, and our sources
Airalo, Nomad, Ringo Light
We priced Airalo, Nomad and Ringo Light for Kazakhstan on 25 October 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.
We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Holafly, Saily and Ubigi. They sell Kazakhstan too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-kazakhstan.
