Airalo vs Ringo Light in one paragraph
For unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheaper of the two at every length it sells, and it stays at full speed while Airalo slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. Its 2 weeks at $22.99 even costs less than Airalo's 7 days at $26.50.
Airalo wins what Ringo Light does not sell: 3 days, buckets from $4 for 1 GB up to 20 GB at $28, a network it names, and an app. Its 10 GB at $18 is $4.99 under our 2 weeks, and its 20 GB at $28 is $7.99 under our 30 days.
So take Ringo Light for two weeks or a month of unlimited, and Airalo for a long weekend, a bucket or a named network.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars. Airalo asks $12.50 for 3 days of unlimited, $26.50 for 7, $49 for 15 and $72 for 30.
Ringo Light sells two trips: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99, both unlimited data at full speed. The 2 weeks costs less than Airalo's 15 days at $49, and less than its 7 days at $26.50. The 30 days costs about half of Airalo's $72. There is no 3-day plan, so for a long weekend you need another brand.
Only Airalo sells a fixed amount of data: 10 GB for 30 days at $18 and 20 GB at $28. Ringo Light sells no bucket. The $18 bucket is $4.99 under our 2 weeks at $22.99, and the $28 bucket is $7.99 under our 30 days at $35.99. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited gives you 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. That covers maps, messages and some video, and a long day of streaming will hit it. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan has three mobile networks: Kcell, which also sells the Activ brand, Beeline, and Tele2, which runs together with Altel. All three cover Almaty, Astana, Shymkent and the main highways. Between cities the steppe is empty for hours, and coverage drops out for long stretches on the road and on the train. In the mountains above Almaty, at the lakes and in the canyons, signal is patchy on every network, so save offline maps before you leave the city.
Airalo uses Kcell with 5G and Tele2 as a backup, and Ringo Light rides a local partner network.
Kazakhstan sits far from the European Union, so a European phone plan roams here at full price. Check yours before you land.
Installation and app
Airalo needs its app, where you buy and install. Ringo Light needs none, as the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, with support by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch on data when you land.
What Ringo Light is, and what it is not
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM. For Kazakhstan it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day or 7-day plan, no phone number. It is data only, so calls go over apps that use data. For a fixed bucket, Airalo's 10 GB at $18 beats our 2 weeks at $22.99 by $4.99.
