Holafly vs Nomad in one paragraph
These two never meet head on. Holafly sells unlimited days only, from 3 days to 30, with no stated daily cap and no app. Nomad sells buckets only, 10 GB at $18, 20 GB at $25 and 50 GB at $35, on Beeline, with an optional app. Choose by the question you are answering: how many days, or how many gigabytes.
For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three, at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars. Holafly is the only one with unlimited: $12.50 for 3 days, $27.50 for 7, $50.50 for 15 and $73.90 for 30. Nomad sells none.
Ringo Light sells two trips: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99, both unlimited data at full speed. The 2 weeks costs less than Holafly's 15 days at $50.50 and less than its 7 days at $27.50. The 30 days costs about half of Holafly's $73.90. There is no 3-day plan, so for a long weekend Holafly at $12.50 is the one to buy.
Only Nomad sells buckets: 10 GB for 30 days at $18, 20 GB at $25 and 50 GB at $35. Holafly and Ringo Light sell none. Nomad's 10 GB sits $4.99 under Ringo Light's 2 weeks at $22.99, and its 20 GB sits $10.99 under its 30 days at $35.99. The 50 GB at $35 even costs a little less than our 30 days of unlimited. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone and limits sharing to 1 GB a day. Nomad sells no unlimited for Kazakhstan. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan has three mobile networks: Kcell, which also sells the Activ brand, Beeline, and Tele2, which runs together with Altel. All three cover Almaty, Astana, Shymkent and the main highways. Between cities the steppe is empty for hours, and coverage drops out for long stretches on the road and on the train. In the mountains above Almaty, at the lakes and in the canyons, signal is patchy on every network, so save offline maps before you leave the city.
Holafly uses Tele2 and Beeline, Nomad uses Beeline, and Ringo Light rides a local partner network.
Kazakhstan sits far from the European Union, so a European phone plan roams here at full price. Check yours before you land.
Installation and app
Holafly needs no app: it sends a QR code you scan in your phone's settings. Nomad treats its app as optional. Ringo Light needs none either, as the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, with support by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch on data when you land.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM. For Kazakhstan it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day or 7-day plan, no phone number. It is data only, so calls go over apps that use data. For a fixed bucket, Nomad's 10 GB at $18 beats our 2 weeks at $22.99 by $4.99.
The full comparison for Kazakhstan, with Airalo, Saily and Ubigi priced on the same day, is at /blog/best-esim-for-kazakhstan. The card to buy Ringo Light is further up this page, just after the side-by-side table.
Which to pick
- ✓Ringo Light, if you want unlimited for two weeks or a month. $22.99 for 2 weeks or $35.99 for 30 days, unlimited data at full speed, each below Holafly's price at 15 and 30 days.
- Holafly, if you stream a lot, never want to think about a daily cap and prefer no app. Days, not gigabytes, on Tele2 and Beeline, installed by QR code. $12.50 for 3 days up to $73.90 for 30, with sharing capped at 1 GB a day and no buckets.
- Nomad, if you know how much data you need and want a bucket, not unlimited. Buckets only, on Beeline: 10 GB for 30 days at $18, 20 GB at $25 and 50 GB at $35. No unlimited.
Pick by trip
Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan, so take Holafly unlimited for 3 days at $12.50.

Ringo Light unlimited, 30 days, $35.99, where Holafly asks $73.90.

How we compared, and our sources
Holafly, Nomad, Ringo Light

Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.
We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Airalo, Saily and Ubigi. They sell Kazakhstan too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-kazakhstan. This page answers one question, Holafly or Nomad, so it keeps to those two and the cheaper third option. Left out: Nomad unlimited. Nomad sells no unlimited plan for Kazakhstan, so there is no unlimited price to set against Holafly's. The unlimited charts show Holafly and Ringo Light only.
