The short answer
Airalo and Holafly are the two names most people type before a trip to Kazakhstan. We priced both on the same day, for 3 days in Almaty, 15 days from the lakes to Astana and a month of remote work, read what each means by unlimited, and checked which Kazakh network each rides. Then we put Ringo Light next to them, because for two weeks or a month it costs less than half.
Unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks at $22.99 or 30 days at $35.99, nothing renews. Airalo asks $49 for 15 days and $72 for the month, Holafly $50.50 and $73.90. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan and no bucket.
3 days at $12.50, a week at $26.50, 15 days at $49, a month at $72, on Kcell with 5G. 10 GB for 30 days at $18 if you want a fixed amount. Unlimited is 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps.
Unlimited days only, installed from a QR code, on Tele2 and Beeline. $12.50 for 3 days, $27.50 for a week, $50.50 for 15 days, $73.90 for a month. Sharing is limited to 1 GB a day.
Prices read on 25 October 2026: Airalo, Holafly on their own sites or listings, Ringo Light from its catalogue. All in US dollars unless stated. Treat every number as a snapshot.

The prices, charted
US dollars, 25 October 2026. Airalo and Holafly sell 15 days, Ringo Light 2 weeks. Airalo's 15 days is 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone.
The 30-day unlimited at each. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed. Airalo slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone.
Holafly sells no buckets, so it has no bar. Ringo Light sells no bucket either: its 2 weeks is unlimited, and lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. For a fixed 10 GB, Airalo is cheaper.

Airalo vs Holafly in one paragraph
On price they are almost the same. Both charge $12.50 for 3 days of unlimited in Kazakhstan. Airalo is a dollar or two cheaper at every longer length: $26.50 against $27.50 for a week, $49 against $50.50 for 15 days, $72 against $73.90 for a month. The real differences are elsewhere. Airalo caps unlimited at 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps, and also sells buckets, from 10 GB for $18. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone, sells only unlimited days, and installs from a QR code with no app. Airalo rides Kcell with 5G and Tele2; Holafly rides Tele2 and Beeline. If you use a lot of data every day, Holafly. If you want the lower price or a bucket, Airalo. If the trip is two weeks or a month, neither: Ringo Light charges $22.99 and $35.99 for unlimited at full speed, less than half of either.
Price: the same trip at each
Three days in Almaty: $12.50 at Airalo, $12.50 at Holafly. A tie. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan, so for a long weekend it is one of those two.
A week: $26.50 at Airalo, $27.50 at Holafly. Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan either, but its 2 weeks costs $22.99, which is less than either brand charges for 7 days. You pay less and get a week you may not use.
Fifteen days: $49 at Airalo, $50.50 at Holafly. Ringo Light charges $22.99 for 2 weeks. That is less than half of either, for one day fewer.
A month: $72 at Airalo, $73.90 at Holafly, $35.99 at Ringo Light. Same 30 days, less than half the price.
A fixed bucket: only Airalo sells one, 10 GB for 30 days at $18 and 20 GB at $28. Holafly has no buckets. Ringo Light has no buckets either, and for a fixed 10 GB that lasts 30 days, Airalo at $18 beats our 2 weeks at $22.99. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited plans for Kazakhstan give 3 GB a day at full speed, then slow you to 1 Mbps until the next day. That is enough for maps, messages and a fair amount of video, but a long evening of streaming or a hotspot for a laptop will hit it.
Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone. It limits sharing to 1 GB a day, so if you hotspot a laptop, that is the number that matters. Holafly sells unlimited days only; there is no bucket to fall back on.
Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days, with the fair use policy in the Terms. Nothing renews, and the trip ends when it ends.
Networks and coverage in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan has three mobile networks: Kcell, which also sells the Activ brand, Beeline, and Tele2, which runs together with Altel. All three cover Almaty, Astana, Shymkent and the main highways. Between cities the steppe is empty for hours and coverage drops out for long stretches, on the road and on the train. In the mountains above Almaty, at the lakes and the canyons, the signal is patchy whichever network you are on, so save offline maps before you leave the city.
Airalo rides Kcell with 5G and Tele2 as a backup. Holafly names Tele2 and Beeline. Ringo Light uses a local partner network. In the cities you will not feel the difference; on the mountain roads none of them is reliable.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app. You buy and install the eSIM inside it, and top up there too. Holafly needs no app: it sends a QR code and you scan it in your phone settings. Ringo Light needs no app either; the eSIM arrives by email and installs in one scan.
None of the three renews a Kazakhstan plan on its own. Airalo and Holafly plans end when the days run out. A Ringo Light trip ends when it ends.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Kazakhstan it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99. Nothing renews. The eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, no app.
What it does not do: no 3-day or 7-day plan, no buckets, no phone number, data only. If you need a long weekend, buy Airalo or Holafly at $12.50. If you need a fixed 10 GB that lasts 30 days, buy Airalo at $18. If you need two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light costs less than half of either.
Saily, Nomad and Ubigi sell Kazakhstan plans too. They are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-kazakhstan. The card to buy Ringo Light is further up this page, just after the side-by-side table.
