Airalo vs Saily in one paragraph
The two are close. Airalo is cheaper than Saily for Vietnam at 15 days, $48 against $48.99, and at 30 days, $69 against $71.99. Saily is cheaper at 7 days, $26.99 against $27, and on the buckets, $17.99 against $18 for 10 GB and $28.99 against $29 for 20 GB, each by a cent. Airalo is the only one of the two with a 3-day plan, at $11.50. Saily gives more headroom on unlimited, 5 GB a day at full speed against Airalo's 3 GB, but it needs its app and does not name the Vietnamese network it uses. Airalo rides VNPT, also called Vinaphone, and its app is optional. If the trip is two weeks or a month and you want unlimited, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $42.99, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $11.50; Saily sells no 3-day plan. For a week, $27 at Airalo and $26.99 at Saily. For 15 days, $48 at Airalo and $48.99 at Saily. For 30 days, $69 at Airalo and $71.99 at Saily. So Airalo wins 15 and 30 days, by 99 cents and $2.99; Saily wins the week by a cent; only Airalo sells 3 days.
For a fixed amount of data, 10 GB for 30 days is $18 at Airalo and $17.99 at Saily, and 20 GB is $29 at Airalo and $28.99 at Saily. Airalo's buckets start at $4 for 1 GB.
Ringo Light sells two trips for Vietnam: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $42.99. The 2 weeks costs $25.01 less than Airalo's 15 days at $48 and $26.00 less than Saily's at $48.99. It also costs less than either one's week: $4.01 below Airalo's $27 and $4.00 below Saily's $26.99. The 30 days costs $26.01 less than Airalo's $69 and $29.00 less than Saily's $71.99. Ringo Light sells no buckets: its 2 weeks at $22.99 costs $4.99 more than Airalo's 10 GB and $5.00 more than Saily's, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's Xin Chao unlimited gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then drops to 1 Mbps. Saily gives 5 GB a day at full speed, then slows you for the rest of the day. Saily is the one with more headroom, enough for maps, messages and several hours of video; Airalo's cap is lower but still covers a normal day of travel use. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Vietnam
Airalo rides VNPT, also called Vinaphone. Saily does not name its Vietnamese network. Ringo Light rides a local partner network. Viettel, the largest network in Vietnam, is not named by any of the brands in the full comparison. For Hanoi, Hoi An, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, the main towns and the routes between them have good 4G, and 5G in the big cities.
Installation, app and support
Saily needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it. Airalo has an optional app; you can also install from a QR code. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Noi Bai or Tan Son Nhat.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Vietnam it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $42.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day or 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB for a month, Saily at $17.99 or Airalo at $18 is the better buy. If you want 3 days, only Airalo sells it, at $11.50. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three.
