2 · What happens
BIFF screens films from across Asia and the world over about ten days, with premieres, talks, outdoor events and guests walking the red carpet. Popular screenings sell out within minutes of booking opening, so know your booking day and have your account ready before then.
3 · Tickets and your phone
- ✓Booking: The festival sells tickets on its own ticketing site. Check the booking information on the official site for the rules and opening times.
- ✓E-tickets: Keep your confirmation saved offline in case the cinema lobby signal is busy.
- ✓Schedules change: Check the festival site on the day for any programme updates.
4 · Getting around Busan
- ✓Subway: Busan's subway serves Haeundae and Centum City, which are both on Line 2. The Busan Cinema Center and Centum City are close to each other.
- ✓From Seoul: KTX trains run from Seoul to Busan Station. Book on the Korail site or app and keep the e-ticket on your phone.
- ✓Taxi: Kakao T works in Busan, and is useful late at night after a screening.
5 · Korean apps that work for visitors
- ✓Naver Map or KakaoMap: Google Maps has limited walking and transit directions in Korea. Naver Map and KakaoMap work well for subway, bus and walking routes.
- ✓Kakao T: Korea's main taxi app, which can work with foreign cards in many cases.
- ✓Papago: Naver's translation app, useful for menus and signs.
- ✓T-money: The transit card for buses and subways, sold and topped up at convenience stores.
6 · Which plan covers the trip
Ringo Light's South Korea plan covers Busan, Seoul and the whole country on one eSIM with unlimited data at full speed, enough for Naver Map, Kakao T and ticket apps. If you are combining Korea with Japan or other countries, the Global plan covers your route.
