Pick Airalo for a week, for a small bucket, or if you want to know the network before you land. Pick Ringo Light for 3 days, two weeks or a month of unlimited at the lowest price of the two.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars, from Airalo's own site and from the Ringo catalogue the checkout charges. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $12 and Ringo Light $9.99. For two weeks, Airalo sells 15 days at $49 and Ringo Light 2 weeks at $22.99, less than half. For 30 days, $69 at Airalo and $35.99 at Ringo Light.
Airalo's 7-day plan is $29. Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan for Korea. Its 2 weeks at $22.99 still costs less than Airalo's week, with a week of days left over, but if you want to pay for exactly seven days, Airalo is the only one of the two that sells them.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the only one of the two that sells it: 10 GB for 30 days at $19, 20 GB at $30. Ringo Light sells no buckets. If 10 GB is all you need and you want it to last a month, Airalo at $19 is cheaper than Ringo Light's 2 weeks at $22.99, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout. The 10 GB chart above shows that row with Airalo on top.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for South Korea, the Jjang plan, gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. That covers Naver Map, KakaoTalk and an hour or two of video; a long evening of streaming in HD on hotel wifi that keeps dropping will hit it. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 3 days, 2 weeks or 30 days, with no daily figure. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in South Korea
South Korea has three networks: SK Telecom, KT and LG U+. All three cover Seoul, Busan, Jeju and the KTX lines, and Korea has some of the fastest 5G in the world on all three. Airalo's own page names SK Telecom, the largest of the three. Ringo Light rides a local partner network, which it does not name. If knowing the network before you land matters to you, that is a row Airalo wins.
Installation, app and support
Airalo's app is optional for Korea: you can buy on its site and install from the details it sends, but the app is where you see your balance and top up, and where its support chat lives. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan of the QR code, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Incheon or Gimhae.
What Ringo Light is, and what it is not
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For South Korea it sells three trips, all unlimited data at full speed: 3 days at $9.99, 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it is not: it sells no buckets, no 7-day plan and no phone number. It is data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB for a month, Airalo at $19 is the better buy. If you want exactly a week, Airalo at $29 is the only one of the two that sells one.
