Airalo vs Nomad in one paragraph

Nomad is cheaper than Airalo for South Korea on every row the two share: a dollar less for 3 days of unlimited, four dollars less for a week, a dollar less for 10 GB, two dollars less for 20 GB. Nomad also rides all three Korean networks, SK Telecom, KT and LG U+, where Airalo names SK Telecom alone. Airalo wins on length: it is the only one of the two that sells 15 days of unlimited, at $49, and 30 days, at $69. Nomad stops at 10 days for $33. Both slow their unlimited after a daily allowance, Airalo after 3 GB, Nomad after 2 GB. Pick Nomad for a trip of up to 10 days or for a bucket. Pick Airalo if you need two weeks or a month of unlimited and want it from one of these two. If you want two weeks or a month of unlimited at the lowest price, neither is it: Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99, unlimited data at full speed.

Price: the same trip at each

Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars, from each brand's own site. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $12 and Nomad $11. For a week, $29 at Airalo and $25 at Nomad. Beyond a week the two part ways: Nomad sells 10 days for $33 and nothing longer; Airalo sells 15 days for $49 and 30 days for $69. For buckets, Nomad asks $18 for 10 GB and $28 for 20 GB, Airalo $19 and $30. On every row both sell, Nomad is the cheaper.

Ringo Light sells three trips for South Korea: 3 days at $9.99, 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99. The 3 days is cheaper than Nomad's $11 and Airalo's $12. The 2 weeks is less than half of Airalo's 15 days at $49, and less than Nomad's 10 days at $33 or its week at $25. The 30 days is cheaper than Airalo's $69, and Nomad sells no month of unlimited at all. Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan; for a week it is the 2 weeks at $22.99, still under Nomad's $25.

For a fixed amount of data, Nomad and Airalo both sell it and Ringo Light does not: 10 GB for 30 days is $18 at Nomad and $19 at Airalo. If 10 GB is all you need and you want it to last a month, Nomad is cheaper than Ringo Light's $22.99, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.

What unlimited means at each

Airalo's unlimited for South Korea, the Jjang plan, gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps. Nomad's unlimited gives 2 GB a day at full speed, then slower. Both are enough for maps, messages and some video; an evening of streaming in HD will hit either, and Nomad's a little sooner. Neither sells unlimited without a daily allowance. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 3 days, 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.

Networks and coverage in South Korea

South Korea has three networks: SK Telecom, KT and LG U+. Korea has some of the fastest 5G in the world on all three, and all three cover Seoul, Busan, the KTX lines and Jeju well. Airalo rides SK Telecom. Nomad rides all three, SK Telecom, KT and LG U+, so your phone can pick whichever is strongest where you stand. Ringo Light rides a local partner network. For Seoul, Busan, Gyeongju and Jeju, any of the three works.

Installation, app and support

At Airalo and Nomad the app is optional: you can buy on the site and install from a QR code, or do it all inside the app, where top-ups and support chat also live. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Incheon or Gimhae. Naver Map, KakaoMap, Papago and KakaoT all work on data; some Korean services ask for a Korean phone number for a text code, which none of the three provides.

The cheaper third option: Ringo Light

Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For South Korea it sells three trips, all unlimited data at full speed: 3 days at $9.99, 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.

What it does not do: no buckets, no 7-day plan, no 10-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB that lasts a month, Nomad at $18 is the better buy, and Airalo at $19 is close behind. For a week, our 2 weeks at $22.99 is still cheaper than Nomad's $25, with a week of days left over. For 3 days, two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three.

How we compared, and our sources

Airalo, Nomad, Ringo Light

We priced Airalo, Nomad and Ringo Light for South Korea on 25 October 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.

We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.

Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.

Left out: Holafly and Ubigi. They sell South Korea too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-south-korea. This page answers one question, Airalo or Nomad, so it keeps to those two and the cheaper third option. Left out: Saily. We could not read its prices for this country on 22 October (saily.com and esimdb.com refused the fetch), so it has no bar in the full comparison either, rather than a guessed one.
