Airalo vs Nomad in one paragraph
Airalo is cheaper than Nomad for unlimited at both lengths the two share: $17.61 against $18 for 3 days, 39 cents less, and $28.87 against $30 for a week, $1.13 less. Airalo also gives more full-speed data, 3 GB a day against 2 GB. Nomad is cheaper for a fixed bucket, 10 GB for 30 days at $17 against $23 and 20 GB at $31 against $37, though those two Nomad prices are sale prices, regular $23 and $39. Nomad stops its unlimited at 10 days for $35, so there is no 15-day or 30-day Nomad price to compare. Pick Airalo for 3 days or a week of unlimited. Pick Nomad if you want a bucket. If the trip is two weeks or a month and you want unlimited, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $32.99 and 30 days at $57.99, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars, from each brand's own site. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $17.61 and Nomad $18. For a week, $28.87 at Airalo and $30 at Nomad. Airalo wins both rows. Nomad sells 10 days for $35; Airalo sells 15 days for $44.01 and 30 days for $80.99, and Nomad sells no 15-day or 30-day unlimited, so we do not compare those lengths. Mobile data costs more in Canada than in Europe or Asia, and both price lists show it.
Ringo Light sells two trips for Canada: 2 weeks at $32.99 and 30 days at $57.99. The 2 weeks costs $11.02 less than Airalo's 15 days at $44.01, and $2.01 less than Nomad's 10 days at $35, which is four days shorter. The 30 days costs $23 less than Airalo's $80.99; Nomad sells no 30-day unlimited. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan and no 7-day plan; for 3 days, Airalo at $17.61 is the cheapest of the three, and for a week, Airalo at $28.87 beats our 2 weeks at $32.99 by $4.12, though our 2 weeks lasts twice as long.
For a fixed amount of data, Nomad is cheapest: 10 GB for 30 days at $17 and 20 GB at $31, both sale prices. Airalo asks $23 and $37. Ringo Light sells no buckets. If 10 GB is all you need, Nomad is $15.99 cheaper than Ringo Light's $32.99, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Canada gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps until the next day. Nomad gives 2 GB a day at full speed, then slower. That is enough for maps, messages and some video; a long evening of streaming in HD will hit either cap, Nomad's sooner. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Canada
Canada has three national networks, Bell, Rogers and Telus, and Bell and Telus share much of theirs. Freedom Mobile covers the big cities of Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, Videotron is strongest in Quebec, and SaskTel in Saskatchewan. Airalo names Bell. Nomad rides Rogers and Freedom Mobile. Ringo Light rides a local partner network. Any of the three works in Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Calgary and Vancouver.
Outside the towns, coverage ends fast. The Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper has long stretches with no signal on any network, and so do the back roads of the national parks and the north. Whatever you buy, download offline maps before you drive into the mountains. For the brand that names five networks and switches between them, see Ubigi in the full comparison.
Installation and app
Airalo needs its app. Nomad's app is optional. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Toronto Pearson, Montreal or Vancouver.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Canada it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $32.99 and 30 days at $57.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day plan, no 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB for a month, Nomad at $17 is the better buy. If you want 3 days, Airalo at $17.61 or Nomad at $18. If you want a week, Airalo at $28.87 is $4.12 cheaper than our 2 weeks at $32.99. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three.

Frequently asked questions
How we compared, and our sources
Airalo, Nomad, Ringo Light
We priced Airalo, Nomad and Ringo Light for Canada on 25 October 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.
We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Holafly, Saily and Ubigi. They sell Canada too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-canada. This page answers one question, Airalo or Nomad, so it keeps to those two and the cheaper third option. Left out: Nomad at 15 and 30 days. The Canada comparison lists no 15-day or 30-day unlimited plan at Nomad (it stops at 10 days for $35), so we compare only the lengths both sell and never call either cheaper where there is no figure.
- Airalo: www.airalo.com/canada-esim?currency=USD, unlimited in dollars on the site, 25 October 2026; buckets and the network from the esimdb listing dated 4 October 2026
