The short answer
Airalo is the travel eSIM most people already know for Canada. Ringo Light is ours. We priced both on the same day: for two weeks of unlimited, Airalo asks $44.01 for 15 days and Ringo Light $32.99 for 2 weeks; for a month, $80.99 against $57.99. Airalo wins the short trips, 3 days at $17.61 and a week at $28.87, sells buckets from $23 for 10 GB, names Bell, and sells a plan with a local +1 number. Ringo Light sells none of that. Here is where each one wins.

Airalo vs Ringo Light in one paragraph
For two weeks or a month of unlimited data in Canada, Ringo Light is cheaper: $32.99 for 2 weeks against $44.01 for Airalo's 15 days, and $57.99 for 30 days against $80.99. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed; Airalo gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. That is the whole of our case. Airalo wins everything else: it sells 3 days of unlimited at $17.61 and a week at $28.87, where Ringo Light sells nothing shorter than 2 weeks; it sells buckets, 10 GB for 30 days at $23 and 20 GB at $37, where Ringo Light sells none; it names its network, Bell, where Ringo Light says local partner network; and it sells a Canada plan with a local +1 number for calls and texts, 10 GB for 30 days at $31. Pick Airalo for a short trip, a bucket, or a Canadian number. Pick Ringo Light for two weeks or a month of unlimited, and keep the difference.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars, from Airalo's own site and our own catalogue. For two weeks of unlimited, Airalo asks $44.01 for 15 days and Ringo Light $32.99 for 2 weeks, $11.02 less, for one day fewer. For a month, Airalo asks $80.99 and Ringo Light $57.99, $23 less for the same 30 days. Those are the two rows Ringo Light wins, and the two charts above show them.
Airalo wins the short trips outright, because Ringo Light does not sell them for Canada. Airalo's 3 days of unlimited is $17.61 and its 7 days is $28.87. Ringo Light's shortest trip is 2 weeks at $32.99, so for a week Airalo is $4.12 cheaper and for 3 days it is $15.38 cheaper. There is no short-trip chart on this page for that reason: a chart with one bar is not a comparison.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the only one of the two that sells it: 10 GB for 30 days at $23, 20 GB at $37. Ringo Light sells no buckets. If 10 GB is all you need, Airalo at $23 is cheaper than Ringo Light's $32.99, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Canada gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. That is enough for maps, messages and an hour or two of video; an evening of streaming in HD on hotel wifi that keeps dropping will hit it. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days, with no daily figure. Fair use policy, see Terms. Neither plan renews: Airalo's ends when its days run out, and Ringo Light's trip ends when it ends.
Networks and coverage in Canada
Canada has three national networks, Bell, Rogers and Telus, and Bell and Telus share much of theirs. Airalo names Bell, which covers Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Calgary and Vancouver and most of the roads between them. Ringo Light rides a local partner network and does not name it, so if you want to know the network before you pay, Airalo is the one that tells you. Outside the towns, coverage ends fast on every network: the Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper has long stretches with no signal, and so do the back roads of the national parks and the north. Whichever you buy, download offline maps before you drive into the mountains.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it, and that is also where its support chat and your data balance live. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. If you like to see a balance on a screen, Airalo gives you one; with Ringo Light there is no balance to watch, because the data is unlimited. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Pearson, Trudeau or Vancouver.
What Ringo Light is, and what it is not
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Canada it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $32.99 and 30 days at $57.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it is not: it is data only, with no phone number and no calls or texts except over apps that use data. It sells no buckets and no plan shorter than 2 weeks. If you want 3 days or a week, Airalo at $17.61 or $28.87 is the better buy. If you want 10 GB for a month, Airalo at $23 is the better buy. If you want a Canadian number, Airalo's $31 plan is the only one of the two that gives you one.
