For two weeks the two are the same price to the cent: $42.99 for 2 weeks at Ringo Light, $43 for 15 days at Airalo, which gives a day more. Mexico is not one of our cheapest countries, and Airalo wins the rows Ringo Light does not sell: unlimited for 3 days at $10.50 and 7 days at $23.50, and buckets, 10 GB at $18.50 and 20 GB at $31. Pick Ringo Light for a month, or for two weeks if you do not want a daily cap. Pick Airalo for a weekend, a week or a bucket.

Price: the same trip at each

Priced on 22 October 2026, in US dollars. For 30 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $62 and Ringo Light $57.99, $4.01 less. For two weeks, Ringo Light asks $42.99 for 2 weeks and Airalo $43 for 15 days, a cent more for a day more, so call it a tie.

Where Ringo Light sells nothing, Airalo is the answer. Ringo Light has no 3-day or 7-day plan for Mexico; Airalo sells 3 days of unlimited at $10.50 and 7 days at $23.50. Ringo Light has no buckets; Airalo sells 10 GB for 30 days at $18.50 and 20 GB at $31. If 10 GB is all you need, Airalo is far cheaper than our $42.99, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.

What unlimited means at each

Airalo's unlimited for Mexico, the Chido plan, gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps until the next day. That is enough for maps, messages and an hour or two of video; a long evening of streaming in HD, or a laptop on the hotspot, will hit it. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.

Networks and coverage in Mexico

Mexico has one big network, Telcel, and two smaller ones, Movistar and AT&T, plus Altan, the shared network other brands rent. Telcel reaches furthest outside the cities, on the highways and in small towns. All of them cover Mexico City, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Airalo names Movistar. Ringo Light rides a local partner network and names none, so if a named network matters to you, Airalo is the one that gives it. If you are driving the Yucatan, download the offline map before you leave the coast, whichever eSIM you buy.

Installation and app

Airalo needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and there is no balance to watch because the trip simply ends when it ends. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land in Mexico City, Cancun or Guadalajara.

What Ringo Light is, and what it is not

Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Mexico it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $42.99 and 30 days at $57.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.

What it is not: it is data only, with no phone number, so calls go over apps that use data. It sells no buckets, no 3-day plan and no 7-day plan. It names no network. If you want 10 GB to last a month, a short trip, or a Movistar plan by name, Airalo is the better buy. For a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is cheaper by $4.01, and for two weeks it is a cent under.
