The prices, charted
US dollars, 22 October 2026. Ringo Light sells 2 weeks, Airalo and Holafly 15 days. Airalo is 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps; Holafly states no daily cap; Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed. Airalo gives one day more for one cent more, so call it a tie.
The 30-day plan at each brand. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed and costs $4.01 less than Airalo. Airalo slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone.
Holafly sells no buckets, so it has no bar here. Ringo Light sells no bucket either: its 2 weeks is unlimited, and lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. For a fixed 10 GB, Airalo is the cheaper of the two by a wide margin.

Airalo vs Holafly in one paragraph
Airalo is cheaper than Holafly for Mexico at every length, by a dollar on the short plans and by $4.50 on the month. Holafly gives you the simpler product and the bigger network: unlimited days with no stated daily cap, on Movistar and Telcel, installed from a QR code. Airalo gives you more choice, buckets from 1 GB up to 20 GB as well as unlimited, but its unlimited slows to 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day, it rides Movistar only, and you need its app. Pick Airalo if you want a bucket or the lowest price of the two. Pick Holafly if you want Telcel outside the cities and never want to think about a daily cap. If the trip is a month and you want unlimited, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 30 days at $57.99, unlimited data at full speed. For two weeks, Ringo Light at $42.99 and Airalo at $43 for 15 days are the same price to the cent.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 22 October 2026, in US dollars, from each brand's own site. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $10.50 and Holafly $11.50. For a week, $23.50 at Airalo and $24.50 at Holafly. For 15 days, $43 at Airalo and $44.90 at Holafly. For 30 days, $62 at Airalo and $66.50 at Holafly. Airalo wins every row of the two, by a dollar on the short plans and by $4.50 on the month.
Ringo Light sells two trips for Mexico: 2 weeks at $42.99 and 30 days at $57.99. The 30 days costs $4.01 less than Airalo's $62 and $8.51 less than Holafly's $66.50. The 2 weeks costs a cent less than Airalo's 15 days at $43, and Airalo gives a day more, so call that one a tie; Holafly's 15 days at $44.90 costs $1.91 more. Ringo Light sells no 3-day and no 7-day plan for Mexico; for those lengths, Airalo at $10.50 and $23.50 is the cheapest of the three.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the only one of the three that sells it: 10 GB for 30 days at $18.50, 20 GB at $31. Holafly sells no buckets. Ringo Light sells no buckets either. If 10 GB is all you need, Airalo is far cheaper than Ringo Light's $42.99, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Mexico, the Chido plan, gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps until the next day. That is enough for maps, messages and an hour or two of video; a long evening of streaming in HD will hit it. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone and limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day, so Holafly is the one to pick between the two if you share data to a laptop every day, but only up to that 1 GB. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Mexico
Mexico has one big network, Telcel, and two smaller ones, Movistar and AT&T, plus Altan, the shared network other brands rent. Telcel reaches furthest outside the cities, on the highways and in small towns. All of them cover Mexico City, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Airalo rides Movistar. Holafly lists Movistar and Telcel, so between the two it is the one with Telcel. Ringo Light rides a local partner network.
Holafly's own page says its plan does not work on Holbox Island, Contoy Island and in some remote stretches between Playa del Carmen and Merida. If you are driving the Yucatan, download the offline map before you leave the coast, whichever eSIM you buy.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it, and that is also where its support chat lives. Holafly sends a QR code you scan in your phone's settings; its app is only for checking the data balance, and support is by chat on its site. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land in Mexico City, Cancun or Guadalajara.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Mexico it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $42.99 and 30 days at $57.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day plan, no 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB for a month, Airalo at $18.50 is the better buy. If you want 3 days or a week, Airalo at $10.50 and $23.50 is cheaper than anything we sell for Mexico. For two weeks, we are a cent under Airalo and Airalo gives a day more. For a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three, $4.01 under Airalo and $8.51 under Holafly.

We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Saily, Nomad and Ubigi. They sell Mexico too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-mexico, where Nomad is the cheapest for 3 days, a week and buckets. This page answers one question, Airalo or Holafly, so it keeps to those two and the cheaper third option. Left out: Maya Mobile. We could not read its own prices for this country on the day, so it stays out rather than being guessed.
