1 · The short answer

2 · Getting to the Autódromo

Mexico City International Airport is close to the circuit. Metro Line 9 stops at Ciudad Deportiva and Velódromo, both near the gates, and ride-hailing is widely used, though roads around the circuit jam on race day. Check which gate matches your grandstand.

The city sits at about 2,240 metres. Drink water and take it easy on the first day.

3 · Signal in the stadium section

The stadium section concentrates a huge crowd in one bowl, and the noise when a Mexican driver passes is matched by everyone filming at once. Data slows sharply there at peak moments.

Save your e-ticket offline, set photos to send later, and agree where to meet your group after the race.

4 · Apps, tickets and paying

  • ✓Official F1 app. Times, results and news; live timing needs an F1 TV subscription and data.
  • ✓Tickets. Sold through the Mexico City Grand Prix's official channels. Keep the ticket offline.
  • ✓Getting around. Ride-hailing apps are the easy option across the city; the metro is cheap and fast to the circuit.
  • ✓Paying. Cards work at the circuit and in most of the city; keep some pesos for street food and markets.

5 · What to do around the race

The historic centre and the Palacio de Bellas Artes, the pyramids of Teotihuacan an hour north, Coyoacán's markets and, just after the race, the Día de Muertos altars and parades across the city.
