Airalo vs Saily in one paragraph
Airalo is the cheaper of the two on buckets in the Dominican Republic: for 10 GB for 30 days Airalo asks $37 and Saily $37.99, so Airalo is $0.99 cheaper. Saily lists no 20 GB for the country, while Airalo sells 20 GB at $49. The bigger difference is unlimited: Airalo sells it, $18.50 for 3 days, $37 for 7, $60 for 15, $97 for 30, 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps, on Altice. Saily lists no Dominican Republic unlimited, only a Global plan, 30 GB at full speed for 30 days at $59.99, then 1 Mbps. Saily's listing is from June and does not name its network. Pick Airalo for unlimited, for 20 GB, or for the cheaper 10 GB. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light sells $44.99 and $56.99, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 28 September 2026, in US dollars; Saily's listing is from June. For 10 GB for 30 days, Airalo asks $37 and Saily $37.99, so Airalo is $0.99 cheaper. Saily lists no 20 GB for the country; Airalo sells 20 GB at $49 and 1 GB from $6.
Unlimited is Airalo's alone: $18.50 for 3 days, $37 for 7, $60 for 15 and $97 for 30. Saily's only unlimited-style plan is its Global plan, listed at $59.99 for 30 days, 30 GB at full speed then 1 Mbps. That is a Global plan, not a Dominican Republic plan, so we leave it out of the bars and do not call either brand cheaper on it.
Ringo Light sells two trips for the Dominican Republic: 2 weeks at $44.99 and 30 days at $56.99. The 2 weeks costs $15.01 less than Airalo's 15 days, and the 30 days costs $40.01 less than Airalo's month. Ringo Light sells no 3-day or 7-day plan. For a fixed amount of data, both Airalo's and Saily's 10 GB are cheaper than our $44.99, and theirs lasts 30 days, not 2 weeks.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for the Dominican Republic gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. That is enough for maps, messages and an hour or two of video; a long evening of streaming in HD will hit it. Saily lists no Dominican Republic unlimited. Its Global plan gives 30 GB at full speed for 30 days at $59.99, then 1 Mbps, which is a Global plan and not unlimited days. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in the Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic has two big networks, Claro and Altice, and a smaller one, Viva. Claro and Altice both cover Santo Domingo, Santiago, Punta Cana, Bávaro and the north coast towns. Signal thins out away from the towns. Holafly's own page names the Cordillera Central, Los Haitises, the Samaná Peninsula and the Sierra de Bahoruco as places where coverage can be weaker. Download offline maps before you drive into the mountains or take a boat, whichever eSIM you buy.
Airalo rides Altice. Saily does not name its network on its listing. Ringo Light rides a local partner network.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app: you buy and install inside it. Saily needs its app. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan. Install it at home on Wi-Fi before you fly and switch it on for data when you land in Punta Cana or Santo Domingo.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For the Dominican Republic it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $44.99 and 30 days at $56.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day or 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB for a month, Airalo at $37 is the better buy. If you want 3 or 7 days, Airalo is cheaper than anything we sell. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is cheaper than Airalo, and Saily sells no Dominican Republic unlimited.

We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.

Left out: Holafly, Nomad and Ubigi. They sell the Dominican Republic too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-dominican-republic. This page answers one question, Airalo vs Saily, so it keeps to those two and the cheaper third option. Left out: A like for like unlimited price.
