Holafly vs Saily in one paragraph
Holafly and Saily do not compete head to head in the Dominican Republic, because they sell different products. Holafly sells unlimited days only, $18.90 for 3, $38.50 for 7, $62.50 for 15 and $99.90 for 30, with no stated daily cap and no app, installed from a QR code, on Altice. Saily sells buckets: 10 GB for 30 days at $37.99, on a listing from June, with no named network and an app you need. It sells no Dominican Republic unlimited. Its Global plan, listed at $59.99 for 30 days, is a Global plan and not a Dominican Republic plan. Pick Holafly if you want unlimited days and never want to count gigabytes. Pick Saily if you want a fixed amount of data. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is cheaper than Holafly: $44.99 for 2 weeks and $56.99 for 30 days, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 28 September 2026, in US dollars; Saily's listing is from June. Holafly: $18.90 for 3 days, $38.50 for 7, $62.50 for 15, $99.90 for 30, all unlimited. Saily: 10 GB for 30 days at $37.99, no 20 GB listed for the country. Holafly sells no buckets and Saily sells no Dominican Republic unlimited, so there is no like for like price. We leave that comparison out rather than call either brand cheaper.
Saily's Global plan is listed at $59.99 for 30 days, 30 GB at full speed, then 1 Mbps. It is a Global plan, not a Dominican Republic plan, so it stays out of the bars. Holafly's 30 days of unlimited is $99.90.
Ringo Light sells two trips for the Dominican Republic: 2 weeks at $44.99 and 30 days at $56.99. The 2 weeks costs $17.51 less than Holafly's 15 days, and the 30 days costs $42.91 less than Holafly's month. Ringo Light sells no 3-day or 7-day plan. For a fixed amount of data, Saily's 10 GB at $37.99 is cheaper than our $44.99, and it lasts 30 days, not 2 weeks. Holafly sells no buckets, and neither do we.
What unlimited means at each
Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone in the Dominican Republic and limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day. It sells days, not gigabytes. Saily lists no Dominican Republic unlimited. Its Global plan gives 30 GB at full speed for 30 days at $59.99, then 1 Mbps, which is a Global plan and not unlimited days. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in the Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic has two big networks, Claro and Altice, and a smaller one, Viva. Claro and Altice both cover Santo Domingo, Santiago, Punta Cana, Bávaro and the north coast towns. Signal thins out away from the towns. Holafly's own page names the Cordillera Central, Los Haitises, the Samaná Peninsula and the Sierra de Bahoruco as places where coverage can be weaker. Download offline maps before you drive into the mountains or take a boat, whichever eSIM you buy.
Holafly rides Altice. Saily does not name its network on its listing. Ringo Light rides a local partner network.
Installation, app and support
Holafly needs no app; you install it from a QR code. Saily needs its app. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan. Install it at home on Wi-Fi before you fly and switch it on for data when you land in Punta Cana or Santo Domingo.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For the Dominican Republic it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $44.99 and 30 days at $56.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day or 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB for a month, Saily at $37.99 is the better buy. If you want 3 or 7 days, Holafly is cheaper than anything we sell. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is cheaper than Holafly, and Saily sells no Dominican Republic unlimited.

We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Airalo, Nomad and Ubigi. They sell the Dominican Republic too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-dominican-republic.
