1 · The short answer
Keukenhof, in Lisse between Amsterdam and The Hague, is open from Thursday 18 March to Sunday 9 May 2027, every day from 8:00 to 19:00, with entry closing at 18:15. Millions of bulbs flower in the gardens and the pavilions; the fields of tulips outside the park are a separate walk or bike ride.
Almost everything for the day is on your phone: the ticket, the bus, the map, the photos you send home. If you are an EU resident, your own plan roams in the Netherlands at home rates. Visitors from elsewhere can use Ringo Light's Netherlands plan, with unlimited data at full speed; it arrives by email and installs in one scan.

2 · Tickets and the best time to go
Keukenhof sells its tickets online, and the organiser's ticket shop is where the current rules on dates and entry times are set. Buy before you travel and keep the ticket in your phone wallet or saved offline, because the queue at the entrance is no place to wait for a page to load.
Late March can be early for tulips and mid April is usually the busiest stretch. Weekdays and early mornings are calmer. Check the park's own flower updates close to your date.
3 · Getting there from Schiphol and Amsterdam
Lisse is about half an hour from Schiphol Airport. During the season a dedicated bus, the Keukenhof Express, runs from Schiphol, and regional buses and trains reach Leiden and Haarlem. Check Keukenhof's site for this year's bus lines and any combined bus and entry ticket.
Public transport in the Netherlands is paid with a contactless bank card or phone, or with an OV-chipkaart. A route planner such as 9292 shows live departures, which helps when a bus is full and you need the next one.
4 · What your phone does on the day
- ✓Ticket and map. Open the ticket before you reach the gate and download the park map while on Wi-Fi.
- ✓Paying. The Netherlands is close to cashless. Cards and phone payments are accepted almost everywhere, and some places refuse cash.
- ✓Photos and messages. Cloud backups and video calls eat data in the gardens. Switch large uploads to the hotel Wi-Fi.
- ✓Cycling. Many visitors cycle the bulb fields around Lisse. Keep an offline map ready, since field tracks can be patchy for signal.
5 · Signal in the park and the fields
The Dutch networks are strong and the park is covered. On a peak Saturday, thousands of phones share the same masts, so video and uploads slow while messages and maps keep working.
If you are an EU resident, roaming applies in the Netherlands and your home plan works as usual. For everyone else, a local eSIM saves hunting for a network at the airport.
6 · Around Keukenhof
Leiden, with its canals and university, is the nearest town and an easy second stop. Haarlem and the Zaanse Schans windmills are within reach, and Amsterdam is about forty minutes away. Plan one anchor stop a day rather than three, as the bus links can be slow on weekends.
