Airalo vs Saily in one paragraph

Airalo and Saily sell almost the same thing at almost the same price for the Netherlands. Airalo is cheaper where it counts for a longer trip: $48 against $48.99 for 15 days, and $69 against $71.99 for 30 days. Saily is a cent cheaper for a week, $26.99 against $27, and a cent cheaper on 10 GB and on 20 GB. Airalo has a 3-day plan at $11.50; Saily has none, and its next plan is 5 days at $18.99. Saily gives 5 GB a day at full speed on unlimited and Airalo 3 GB. Airalo names KPN; Saily names no network for the Netherlands. Both need their app. Pick Airalo for a 3-day trip or a month. Pick Saily if you want more full-speed data a day. If the trip is two weeks or a month and you want unlimited, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99, unlimited data at full speed.

Price: the same trip at each

Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $11.50 and Saily sells no 3-day plan. For a week, $27 at Airalo and $26.99 at Saily. For 15 days, $48 at Airalo and $48.99 at Saily. For 30 days, $69 at Airalo and $71.99 at Saily. Airalo is cheaper by $0.99 at 15 days and by $2.99 at 30 days; Saily by one cent on the week.

For a fixed amount of data, 10 GB for 30 days is $18 at Airalo and $17.99 at Saily; 20 GB is $27 at Airalo and $26.99 at Saily. Saily is a cent cheaper on both.

Ringo Light sells three trips for the Netherlands: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99. The 3 days costs less than Airalo's $11.50. The 2 weeks costs less than either brand's week and less than a third of their 15 days. The 30 days is $26.99 against $69 and $71.99. Ringo Light sells no buckets and no 7-day plan.

What unlimited means at each

Airalo's unlimited for the Netherlands, the Hé Hé plan, gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. Saily gives 5 GB a day at full speed, then slows. So on the day-by-day numbers Saily lets you use more at full speed before it slows you. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 3 days, 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.

Networks and roaming in the Netherlands

The Netherlands has three networks: KPN, Vodafone and Odido, the old T-Mobile. The country is small and flat, and all three cover it with 4G and 5G, trains included. Coverage thins only on parts of the Wadden islands and in the Frisian countryside. Airalo rides KPN. Saily names no network for the Netherlands on its listing. Ringo Light rides a local partner network and names none.

If your phone plan is from another EU country, you roam here at home prices within a fair use limit, and you may not need a travel eSIM at all. Travellers from the US, the UK, Canada or Australia usually pay a daily roaming fee, and that is where a travel eSIM saves money.

Installation, app and support

Airalo and Saily both need their app: you buy, install and manage the plan inside it, and that is where support chat lives. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home on Wi-Fi before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Schiphol.

The cheaper third option: Ringo Light

Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For the Netherlands it sells three trips, all unlimited data at full speed: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.

What it is not: it is data only, with no phone number. It sells no buckets and no 7-day plan, and it names no network. If you want a fixed 10 GB, Saily at $17.99 or Airalo at $18 is the bucket to buy. For unlimited at 3 days, two weeks or a month, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three.
