The short answer
Airalo is the travel eSIM most people already know for the Netherlands. Ringo Light is cheaper for unlimited at every length it sells: $8.99 against $11.50 for 3 days, $14.99 for 2 weeks against $27 for one week at Airalo, $26.99 against $69 for a month. Airalo wins where Ringo Light sells nothing: a 7-day plan, data buckets, a named network, KPN, and an app that shows your balance and tops you up.
Unlimited data at full speed for 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 or 30 days at $26.99, nothing renews, no app. Airalo asks $11.50 for 3 days, $27 for one week, $48 for 15 days and $69 for the month.
$27 for a week of unlimited, 10 GB for 30 days at $18, 20 GB at $27. Its Hé Hé plan rides KPN. You buy, install, top up and see what is left inside its app. Ringo Light sells none of that.

Airalo vs Ringo Light in one paragraph
For unlimited data in the Netherlands, Ringo Light is cheaper than Airalo at every length it sells, and not by a little. Three days is $8.99 against $11.50. Two weeks is $14.99, $12.01 less than Airalo asks for one week at $27. A month is $26.99 against $69. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed; Airalo gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. Airalo wins everything Ringo Light does not sell: a 7-day plan, data buckets such as 10 GB at $18 and 20 GB at $27, a named network, KPN, and an app that shows your balance and tops you up. Pick Ringo Light if you want unlimited for 3 days, two weeks or a month. Pick Airalo if you want a bucket that lasts 30 days, a named network, or the comfort of the app.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $11.50 and Ringo Light $8.99. For a week, Airalo asks $27; Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan, and its 2 weeks at $14.99 costs less than Airalo's week, with a week of days left over. For 15 days, Airalo asks $48. For a month, Airalo asks $69 and Ringo Light $26.99. That is the whole unlimited story: Ringo Light is cheaper at every length, including the one it does not sell.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the only one of the two that sells it: 10 GB for 30 days at $18 and 20 GB for 30 days at $27. Ringo Light sells no buckets. Its 2 weeks of unlimited at $14.99 costs $3.01 less than Airalo's 10 GB, but it lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. Its 30 days at $26.99 costs one cent less than Airalo's 20 GB, and is unlimited. If you need a little data to last a whole month, Airalo's 10 GB is the better buy, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.
The charts carry Ringo Light's 2 weeks against Airalo's 15 days, as the full comparison does, because Ringo Light sells no 15-day plan for the Netherlands. The month chart is like for like, 30 days at each.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for the Netherlands, the Hé Hé plan, gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps until the next day. That is enough for maps, messages, photos and an hour or two of video; a long evening of streaming in HD will hit it, and a laptop on the hotspot will hit it sooner. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 3 days, 2 weeks or 30 days, with no daily figure. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and roaming in the Netherlands
The Netherlands has three networks: KPN, Vodafone and Odido, the old T-Mobile. The country is small and flat, and all three cover it with 4G and 5G, trains included. Coverage thins only on parts of the Wadden islands and in the Frisian countryside. Airalo's listing names KPN, and that is a point for Airalo: you know which network you will be on before you buy. Ringo Light rides a local partner network and names none.
If your phone plan is from another EU country, you roam here at home prices within a fair use limit, and you may not need a travel eSIM at all. Travellers from the US, the UK, Canada or Australia usually pay a daily roaming fee, and that is where a travel eSIM saves money.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it, see how much data is left, and reach its support chat there. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan from the QR code, and support is by email. There is no balance to watch because there is no bucket. Whichever you pick, install it at home on Wi-Fi before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Schiphol.
What Ringo Light is, and what it is not
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For the Netherlands it sells three trips, all unlimited data at full speed: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it is not: it is data only, with no phone number, so calls go over apps that use data. It sells no buckets and no 7-day plan. It names no network. There is no app and no balance screen, because there is nothing to count. If you want 10 GB to last a month, or a KPN plan by name, Airalo is the better buy. For unlimited at 3 days, two weeks or a month, Ringo Light is the cheaper of the two by a wide margin.
