Holafly vs Nomad in one paragraph
Nomad is cheaper than Holafly for the Netherlands at the two lengths both sell: $11 against $11.90 for 3 days, and $25 against $27.50 for a week. Beyond a week they part: Holafly sells unlimited for 15 days at $50.50 and 30 days at $73.90, and Nomad sells neither. Nomad also sells buckets, 10 GB for 30 days at $16 and 20 GB at $20, which Holafly does not. Both ride KPN and Vodafone. Holafly gives you the simpler product: unlimited days with no stated daily cap and no app, installed from a QR code. Nomad slows to 1 Mbps after 2 GB a day, and its app is optional. Pick Nomad for a week or less, or for a bucket. Pick Holafly if you want a longer unlimited from one of the two. If the trip is two weeks or a month and you want unlimited, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars. For 3 days of unlimited, Holafly asks $11.90 and Nomad $11. For a week, $27.50 at Holafly and $25 at Nomad. Nomad is cheaper by $0.90 and by $2.50. Beyond a week there is nothing to compare: Nomad sells a 10-day plan at $33 and no 15-day or 30-day unlimited, while Holafly asks $50.50 for 15 days and $73.90 for 30 days. The charts therefore show Holafly with Ringo Light at those lengths and say where Nomad has no plan.
For a fixed amount of data, Nomad is the only one of the two that sells it: 10 GB for 30 days at $16, 20 GB at $20. Holafly sells no buckets.
Ringo Light sells three trips for the Netherlands: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99. The 3 days costs less than either brand's. The 2 weeks costs less than Nomad's week at $25 and Holafly's at $27.50, with a week of days left over. The 30 days is $26.99 against $73.90 at Holafly. Ringo Light sells no buckets: for 20 GB that lasts a month, Nomad at $20 costs less than our month, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Holafly states no daily cap for data on your own phone in the Netherlands and limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day. Nomad gives 2 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. That is enough for maps, messages and photos; a long evening of streaming will hit the Nomad figure. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 3 days, 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and roaming in the Netherlands
The Netherlands has three networks: KPN, Vodafone and Odido, the old T-Mobile. The country is small and flat, and all three cover it with 4G and 5G, trains included. Coverage thins only on parts of the Wadden islands and in the Frisian countryside. Holafly and Nomad both ride KPN and Vodafone, so the network is not a reason to choose between them. Ringo Light rides a local partner network and names none.
If your phone plan is from another EU country, you roam here at home prices within a fair use limit, and you may not need a travel eSIM at all. Travellers from the US, the UK, Canada or Australia usually pay a daily roaming fee, and that is where a travel eSIM saves money.
Installation, app and support
Holafly needs no app; it sends a QR code you scan in your phone's settings. Nomad's app is optional. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home on Wi-Fi before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Schiphol.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For the Netherlands it sells three trips, all unlimited data at full speed: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it is not: it is data only, with no phone number. It sells no buckets and no 7-day plan, and it names no network. If you want 20 GB that lasts a month, Nomad at $20 is the cheaper buy. For unlimited at 3 days, two weeks or a month, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three.
