The short answer
Airalo is the travel eSIM most people already know for Moldova. Ringo Light is cheaper for unlimited at every length both cover: $22.99 for 2 weeks against $29.50 for one week and $35 for 10 days at Airalo, $45.99 for a month against $159 on Airalo's Discover global plan. Airalo wins where Ringo Light sells nothing: 3 days of unlimited at $12.50, a named network, Orange, and an app that shows your balance and tops you up.
Unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks at $22.99 or 30 days at $45.99, nothing renews, no app. Airalo asks $29.50 for a week and $35 for 10 days on Moldova, then $96 for 15 days and $159 for a month on its Discover global plan. No 3-day or 7-day plan, no buckets.
3 days of unlimited at $12.50 on Orange, 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. 10 GB for 30 days at $29.50, 20 GB at $49, 1 GB from $4.50. Its Moldova unlimited stops at 10 days. You buy, install, top up and see your balance inside its app.

The prices, charted
US dollars, 28 September 2026. Ringo Light sells 2 weeks. Airalo's Moldova unlimited stops at 10 days, so its 15 days is the Discover global plan. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed.
The 30-day plan at each brand. Airalo sells no Moldova plan at 30 days of unlimited, so its bar is the Discover global plan. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed.
Ringo Light sells no bucket: its 2 weeks is unlimited and lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. If the 10 GB must last a whole month, Airalo is the one of the two that sells it.

Airalo vs Ringo Light in one paragraph
For unlimited data in Moldova, Ringo Light is cheaper than Airalo at every length both cover, and not by a little. Two weeks at Ringo Light is $22.99, $6.51 less than Airalo asks for one week at $29.50 and $12.01 less than its 10 days at $35. Airalo's Moldova unlimited stops at 10 days, so 15 days or a month means its Discover global plan: $96 for 15 days against $22.99, and $159 for 30 days against $45.99. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed; Airalo gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. Airalo wins what Ringo Light does not sell: 3 days of unlimited at $12.50, a named network, Orange, and an app that shows your balance and tops you up. Pick Ringo Light if you want unlimited for two weeks or a month. Pick Airalo if you want 3 days, a bucket that lasts 30 days, or the comfort of the app.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 28 September 2026, in US dollars. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $12.50; Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan for Moldova, so for a long weekend Airalo is the one of the two to buy. For a week, Airalo asks $29.50; Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan, and its 2 weeks at $22.99 costs $6.51 less than Airalo's week, with a week of days left over. For 10 days, Airalo's Moldova plan asks $35, $12.01 more than Ringo Light's 2 weeks. For 15 days, Airalo asks $96 on its Discover global plan, $73.01 more. For a month, Airalo asks $159 on that global plan and Ringo Light $45.99, a difference of $113.01.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the only one of the two that sells it: 1 GB from $4.50, 10 GB for 30 days at $29.50, 20 GB for 30 days at $49. Ringo Light sells no buckets. Its 2 weeks of unlimited at $22.99 costs $6.51 less than Airalo's 10 GB, but it lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. Its 30 days at $45.99 costs $3.01 less than Airalo's 20 GB. If you need a little data to last a whole month, Airalo's 10 GB is the one of the two that sells it, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.
The two-week chart carries Ringo Light's 2 weeks against Airalo's 15 days on the global plan, because Airalo sells no Moldova-only plan at that length. The month chart is like for like on length, 30 days at each, but Airalo's is the global plan.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Moldova, its Soroca Mobile plan, gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps until the next day, and stops at 10 days. That is enough for maps, messages, photos and an hour or two of video; a long evening of streaming in HD will hit it, and a laptop on the hotspot will hit it sooner. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days, with no daily figure. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Moldova
Moldova has three networks: Orange, Moldcell and Moldtelecom. Orange is the biggest. All three cover Chisinau, the towns and the main roads; in the river valleys around Orheiul Vechi, Saharna and Tipova, signal can thin on any of them. Airalo rides Orange, and that is a point for Airalo: you know which network you will be on before you buy. Ringo Light rides a local partner network.
Since 1 January 2026, Moldova has been part of the EU's roam like at home area, so a phone plan from an EU country works there within its normal allowance. Visitors from the UK, the US and elsewhere still pay their own roaming rates, and that is where a travel eSIM earns its keep.
Transnistria, the strip east of the Dniester, is a separate question for coverage. Neither Airalo nor Ringo Light makes a claim for it. If your trip goes there, ask the brand before you buy.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it, see how much data is left, and reach its support chat there. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan from the QR code, and support is by email. There is no balance to watch because there is no bucket. Whichever you pick, install it at home on Wi-Fi and switch it on for data when you land in Chisinau.
What Ringo Light is, and what it is not
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Moldova it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $45.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it is not: it is data only, with no phone number, so calls go over apps that use data. It sells no 3-day or 7-day plan and no buckets. It names no network. There is no app and no balance screen, because there is nothing to count. If you want 3 days, or a bucket that lasts 30 days, Airalo is the better buy. For unlimited at two weeks or a month, Ringo Light is the cheaper of the two by a wide margin.
