Holafly vs Nomad in one paragraph
Holafly and Nomad answer different questions in Moldova. Holafly sells unlimited days only, from $12.50 for 3 days to $73.90 for 30, with no daily cap stated and no buckets. Nomad sells buckets only, 10 GB for 30 days at $25 and 20 GB at $34, and no unlimited at all for Moldova, so we cannot say which of the two is cheaper for unlimited and we do not. Nomad is the one to pick for a fixed amount of data on Orange; Holafly is the one to pick for unlimited on three networks with no app. If the trip is two weeks or a month and you want unlimited, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $45.99, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 28 September 2026, in US dollars. Holafly asks $12.50 for 3 days of unlimited, $27.50 for a week, $50.50 for 15 days and $73.90 for 30 days. Nomad sells no unlimited for Moldova, so it has no price for any of those lengths. Nomad sells 10 GB for 30 days at $25 and 20 GB at $34; Holafly sells no buckets.
Ringo Light sells two trips for Moldova: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $45.99. The 2 weeks costs $27.51 less than Holafly's 15 days at $50.50, and $4.51 less than Holafly's 7 days at $27.50, with a week of days left over. The 30 days costs $27.91 less than Holafly's $73.90. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan: for a long weekend, Holafly at $12.50 is the only one of the three that sells unlimited for 3 days.
For a fixed amount of data, Nomad is the only one of the three that sells it. Its 10 GB at $25 costs $2.01 more than Ringo Light's 2 weeks of unlimited at $22.99, but lasts 30 days, not 2 weeks. Its 20 GB at $34 costs $11.99 less than Ringo Light's 30 days at $45.99, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout. If 20 GB is all you need for a month, Nomad is the cheaper buy.
What unlimited means at each
Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone in Moldova and limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day. It sells days, not gigabytes. Nomad sells no unlimited for Moldova, so there is nothing to compare. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Moldova
Moldova has three networks: Orange, Moldcell and Moldtelecom. Orange is the biggest. All three cover Chisinau, the towns and the main roads; in the river valleys around Orheiul Vechi, Saharna and Tipova, signal can thin on any of them. Holafly lists all three networks, Nomad rides Orange, and Ringo Light rides a local partner network.
Since 1 January 2026, Moldova has been part of the EU's roam like at home area, so a phone plan from an EU country works there within its normal allowance. Visitors from the UK, the US and elsewhere still pay their own roaming rates, and that is where a travel eSIM earns its keep.
Transnistria, the strip east of the Dniester, is a separate question for coverage. Of the brands here, only Nomad mentions it: its Moldova page says its coverage runs from Tiraspol to Chisinau. Holafly says nothing either way, and Ringo Light makes no claim for it. If your trip goes there, ask the brand before you buy.
Installation, app and support
Holafly needs no app; it sends a QR code you scan in your phone's settings, and support is by chat on its site. Nomad's app is optional. Ringo Light needs no app either; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home on Wi-Fi and switch it on for data when you land in Chisinau.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Moldova it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $45.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day or 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 3 days of unlimited, Holafly at $12.50 is the only one of the three that sells it. If you want 20 GB for a month, Nomad at $34 is cheaper than our $45.99. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three.

How we compared, and our sources
Holafly, Nomad, Ringo Light
We priced Holafly, Nomad and Ringo Light for Moldova on 28 September 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.
We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Airalo, Saily and Ubigi. They sell Moldova too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-moldova. This page answers one question, Holafly or Nomad, so it keeps to those two and the cheaper third option. Left out: Nomad unlimited. Nomad sells no unlimited plan for Moldova, so there is no Nomad bar in the two-week and month charts and no brand is called cheaper than the other on unlimited. Holafly sells no buckets, so it has no bar in the 10 GB chart.
