The short answer

No travel eSIM sells Valencia on its own. Each one sells Spain, and Valencia is covered by it. We priced six of them on the same day for a weekend, a fortnight and a month, then thought through what a phone does between the Manises arrivals hall, the metro, the old town, the beach and the riverbed gardens.

What to do in Valencia, and what your phone does for you there

Six places for a first visit to Valencia, from the futuristic riverbed to the wetlands to the south. The old centre is easy on foot and a bike or the metro handles the rest, so data mostly means tickets, maps and timetables.

The City of Arts and Sciences, End of the Turia gardens
End of the Turia gardensThe City of Arts and SciencesA cluster of white buildings by Santiago Calatrava and Felix Candela, with an opera house, a planetarium and a science museum rising out of turquoise pools. It is a favourite spot at dusk when the light turns pink.✓Buy museum or aquarium tickets online and keep the confirmation on your phone, then check the metro or bike route back along the Turia.
The Cathedral and the Miguelete, Old town
Old townThe Cathedral and the MigueleteA mix of Gothic, Romanesque and Baroque styles, with a chapel said to hold the Holy Chalice. The octagonal bell tower beside it, the Miguelete, is climbed by a narrow spiral stair with views over the roofs.✓Check opening times and ticket rules on your phone before you queue, as the tower has its own entry and a limit on how many can climb at once.
The Central Market, Beside the Lonja
Beside the LonjaThe Central MarketA huge iron and glass hall of tiled domes, with stalls of fruit, fish, ham and local rice. It is one of the largest fresh food markets in Europe and is busiest in the late morning.✓Go early, before the lunchtime rush. A translator app on the camera will read the labels for you.
The Turia gardens, Along the old riverbed
Along the old riverbedThe Turia gardensAfter a flood in 1957 the river was diverted and its bed became about nine kilometres of park, with palm walks, football pitches and playgrounds. It circles the old town and ends at the modern buildings.✓Rent a bike with a phone app and ride it from end to end. Save an offline map, as the path runs below street level.
Malvarrosa beach, Eastern edge of the city
Eastern edge of the cityMalvarrosa beachA broad stretch of fine sand with a promenade behind it, lined with seafood restaurants that serve paella. Locals come at the weekend, so a weekday morning is calmer.✓Check the metro, tram or bus options to the beach in a map app. Keep your phone shaded, as heat drains the battery.
The Albufera, South of the city, a short trip
South of the city, a short tripThe AlbuferaA freshwater lagoon and nature park, with rice fields around it and a shoreline known for flat-bottomed boat rides at sunset. It is the home of paella, and the villages by the water serve it.✓Look up the bus or taxi back to the city before the sun goes down, and check if your boat trip needs a booking.

Getting online at Manises airport and on the metro

Valencia airport, VLC, sits in Manises, a few kilometres west of the city. Turn your eSIM on after landing and it should be connected by the time you reach the arrivals hall, which leaves you free to check your hotel address and a route into town.

The metro is the usual way in, and lines 3 and 5 both stop at the airport. Check on the operator's site or in a map app which line and which change you need for your stop, because services and ticket zones are revised from time to time.

Inside the city, the metro and the EMT buses between them cover most of what a visitor needs. Ask at a ticket machine or look at the current fare page about the card options, such as a rechargeable card against single tickets, and check whether your bank card can be tapped at the gate. Live bus times in a map app are only as good as your connection, so keep the eSIM on.

Las Fallas week in March

Las Fallas is the city's big spring fire festival, with huge papier-mache sculptures on the streets, a loud daily firework display called the mascleta, and a burning night to close the week. The city fills up, many streets are shut to traffic, and hotels sell out early.

With that many people in the same few squares, mobile data can be slow around the main events. Send your messages and download tickets, maps and any booking confirmations before you walk into the crowd, and agree a meeting point in case a call will not connect.

The festival falls in the middle of March, but check the exact dates with the official programme before you book flights. Outside those days the centre is much calmer and data behaves as normal.

Signal on the beach and in the Turia

The Turia is a river that was moved aside after a flood and replaced by a long sunken park. Its banks are lined with roads and buildings, and signal is generally fine along it, though check it in the deepest stretches and under the bridges before you depend on it.

The beaches at Malvarrosa and Las Arenas are open and flat, so a phone usually does well there. On a hot weekend the sand fills with people, and that can slow a connection or drain a battery that is searching in the sun, so keep it out of direct heat.

Which plan fits a Valencia trip

A weekend: Ringo Light sells 3 days of unlimited data at $8.99, against $11 at Airalo and Nomad and $11.90 at Holafly.

Five to fourteen days: Ringo Light has no 7-day plan, but 2 weeks of unlimited data is $16.99. Ubigi charges $18 for 7 days, Airalo $23.50, Holafly $24.50 and Nomad $25, so the longer Ringo plan costs less and the extra days are yours to use.

A month, for a course, a placement or remote work: Ringo Light 30 days at $26.99. Airalo asks $63, Holafly $66.50, Saily $71.99 and Ubigi $44 for the same length. One plan also covers a day trip to Alicante or a hop to Barcelona.

If your phone plan is from the EU

EU roaming applies for EU visitors. A plan from another EU country normally works in Valencia at your home price, up to the fair use limit, so read your own terms before paying for an eSIM. Visitors from outside the EU generally face a roaming charge, and that is where a travel eSIM tends to save money.

What Ringo Light is

Ringo Light is our own data eSIM. In Spain, Valencia included, it comes in three lengths and each is unlimited data at full speed: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $16.99 and 30 days at $26.99. Nothing renews. The eSIM lands in your inbox within seconds and installs with a single scan, with no app to download.

If a set amount of data will do, Ubigi has 10 GB for 30 days at $12, which is under our 2 weeks. We have no buckets. You will find the card to buy it higher up this page, right after the side-by-side table.

Is there signal in the Turia gardens?+
Generally, yes, but check it in the lowest stretches and under bridges before you rely on it. Download a map if you plan a long ride along it.
Does data slow down during Las Fallas?+
It can near the main squares and events, because so many people are online together. Download tickets and maps beforehand and check the festival dates each year.

Any Spain plan works on the sand, as the beach is open and the signal is usually good. Heat can run a battery down, so shade your phone.

How we compared, and our sources

Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi, Ringo Light

We priced Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi and Ringo Light for Valencia on 22 October 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.

We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.

Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.

Left out: Maya Mobile. We could not read its own prices for this country on the day, so it stays out rather than being guessed.
