Airalo vs Ringo Light in one paragraph

For unlimited data in Croatia, Ringo Light is cheaper than Airalo at every length both cover, and not by a little. Two weeks at Ringo Light is $16.99, $7.51 less than Airalo asks for one week at $24.50 and $21.51 less than its 15 days at $38.50. A month is $26.99 against $58.50. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed; Airalo gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. Airalo wins everything Ringo Light does not sell: 3 days of unlimited at $9.50, a 7-day plan, data buckets from $4 for 1 GB up to 20 GB at $25.50, and an app that shows your balance and tops you up. Pick Ringo Light if you want unlimited for two weeks or a month. Pick Airalo if you want 3 days, a bucket, or the comfort of the app.

Price: the same trip at each

Priced on 28 September 2026, in US dollars. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $9.50; Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan for Croatia, so for a long weekend Airalo is the one of the two to buy. For a week, Airalo asks $24.50; Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan, and its 2 weeks at $16.99 costs $7.51 less than Airalo's week, with a week of days left over. For 15 days, Airalo asks $38.50 against $16.99 for 2 weeks. For a month, Airalo asks $58.50 and Ringo Light $26.99, a difference of $31.51.

For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the only one of the two that sells it: 1 GB from $4, 10 GB for 30 days at $17, 20 GB for 30 days at $25.50. Ringo Light sells no buckets. Its 2 weeks of unlimited at $16.99 is one cent less than Airalo's 10 GB, but it lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. Airalo's 20 GB at $25.50 costs $1.49 less than Ringo Light's 30 days at $26.99, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout. If you need 20 GB and nothing more, Airalo is the cheaper buy; if you might stream or share a hotspot, the unlimited month is worth $1.49.

The two-week chart carries Ringo Light's 2 weeks against Airalo's 15 days, as the full comparison does, because the two brands sell slightly different lengths. The month chart is like for like, 30 days at each.

What unlimited means at each

Airalo's unlimited for Croatia, its Cronet plan, gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps until the next day. That is enough for maps, messages, photos and an hour or two of video; a long evening of streaming in HD will hit it, and a laptop on the hotspot will hit it sooner. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days, with no daily figure. Fair use policy, see Terms.

Networks and coverage in Croatia

Croatia has three networks: Hrvatski Telekom, A1 and Telemach. All three cover the cities, the coast road and the big islands like Hvar, Brac and Korcula. Signal thins on the small islands, in the mountains and deep inside the national parks. Airalo's plan rides Telemach and one other network; Ringo Light rides a local partner network. For Split, Dubrovnik, Zagreb and the islands most trips take in, both work.

One quirk: the coast between Split and Dubrovnik is cut by a few kilometres of Bosnia and Herzegovina at Neum, and a Croatia plan will not work there for those twenty minutes, whichever eSIM you buy. Download your map before you leave Split.

Installation, app and support

Airalo needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it, see how much data is left, and reach its support chat there. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan from the QR code, and support is by email. There is no balance to watch because there is no bucket. Whichever you pick, install it at home on Wi-Fi and switch it on for data when you land in Dubrovnik, Split or Zagreb.

What Ringo Light is, and what it is not

Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Croatia it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $16.99 and 30 days at $26.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.

What it is not: it is data only, with no phone number, so calls go over apps that use data. It sells no 3-day or 7-day plan and no buckets. It names no network. There is no app and no balance screen, because there is nothing to count. If you want 3 days, or 20 GB to last a month for $1.49 less, Airalo is the better buy. For unlimited at two weeks or a month, Ringo Light is the cheaper of the two by a wide margin.
