Holafly vs Nomad in one paragraph

Nomad is cheaper than Holafly where both sell unlimited in Croatia: by $0.90 on 3 days and $2.50 on a week. Holafly is the only one of the two with a longer plan, 15 days at $50.50 and 30 days at $73.90; Nomad's longest unlimited is 10 days at $33, so no like for like comparison exists beyond a week. Both ride Telemach and A1. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone and needs no app; Nomad's unlimited slows to 1 Mbps after 2 GB a day, and its app is optional. Nomad also sells buckets, 10 GB at $15 and 20 GB at $21; Holafly sells none. Pick Nomad for a short trip or a bucket. Pick Holafly if you stream all evening and want a longer plan with no daily cap. If the trip is two weeks or a month and you want unlimited, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $16.99 and 30 days at $26.99, unlimited data at full speed.

Price: the same trip at each

Priced on 28 September 2026, in US dollars. For 3 days of unlimited, $11.90 at Holafly and $11 at Nomad, so Nomad is cheaper by $0.90. For a week of unlimited, $27.50 at Holafly and $25 at Nomad, so Nomad is cheaper by $2.50. For 15 days, only Holafly sells it, at $50.50; Nomad sells no such plan. For 30 days, only Holafly sells it, at $73.90; Nomad sells no such plan. Nomad's longest unlimited is 10 days at $33, which is not a like for like row against the other brand's 15 days, so we do not rank it.

Ringo Light sells two trips for Croatia: 2 weeks at $16.99 and 30 days at $26.99, both unlimited data at full speed. The 2 weeks costs $33.51 less than the cheapest 15 days here ($50.50). It also costs less than either brand's 7 days, from $25, with a week of days left over. The 30 days at $26.99 is $46.91 below the cheapest 30-day unlimited here, $73.90. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan: for a long weekend, Nomad at $11 is the cheaper buy.

For a fixed amount of data, Nomad is the only one of the three that sells it: 10 GB for 30 days at $15, 20 GB at $21. Holafly sells no buckets. Ringo Light sells no buckets either. If 10 GB is all you need and it must last a month, Nomad is the better buy, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.

What unlimited means at each

Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone and limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day. Nomad's unlimited for Croatia gives 2 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. A cap of a few gigabytes a day is enough for maps, messages and photos on a normal day; a long evening of video or a laptop on the hotspot will hit it sooner. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days, with no daily figure. Fair use policy, see Terms.

Networks and coverage in Croatia

Croatia has three networks: Hrvatski Telekom, A1 and Telemach. All three cover the cities, the coast road and the big islands like Hvar, Brač and Korčula. Signal thins on the small islands, in the mountains and deep inside the national parks. Holafly: Telemach, A1. Nomad: Telemach, A1. Ringo Light rides a local partner network. None of the brands in the full comparison names Hrvatski Telekom. The coast between Split and Dubrovnik is cut by a few kilometres of Bosnia and Herzegovina at Neum, and a Croatia plan will not work there; download your map before you leave Split.

Installation, app and support

Holafly needs no app: it sends a QR code you scan in your phone's settings, and support is by chat on its site. Nomad's app is optional: you can install from the QR code or manage the plan in the app. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home on Wi-Fi and switch it on for data when you land in Split, Dubrovnik or Zagreb.

The cheaper third option: Ringo Light

Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Croatia it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $16.99 and 30 days at $26.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.

What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day or 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB for a month, Nomad at $15 is the better buy of these. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three.

The full six-brand comparison for Croatia, with Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad and Ubigi priced the same day, is at /blog/best-esim-for-croatia. The card to buy Ringo Light is further up this page, just after the side-by-side table.

How we compared, and our sources

Holafly, Nomad, Ringo Light

We priced Holafly, Nomad and Ringo Light for Croatia on 28 September 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.

We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.

Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.

Left out: Airalo, Saily and Ubigi. They sell Croatia too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-croatia. This page answers one question, Holafly or Nomad, so it keeps to those two and the cheaper third option. Left out: Nomad's 10-day plan. It sells no 15-day or 30-day unlimited for Croatia, so its 10 days at $33 is shown in the table but not charted against 15-day plans.
