Airalo vs Saily in one paragraph
If you want unlimited data in Austria, Saily is the only choice of the two, from 15 days up, at $48.99. If you want a bucket the two are a cent apart: 10 GB is $10.99 at Saily and $11 at Airalo. Ringo Light is the cheaper unlimited at 2 weeks and a month, and it sells the 3-day trip that neither of them does.
Price: the same trip at each
Saily's unlimited starts at 15 days for $48.99 and runs to 30 days for $71.99. It has no 3-day or 7-day plan, and the nearest it comes to a week is 10 days at $34.99. Airalo sells no unlimited plan for Austria, so there is nothing of its own to set beside these.
Ringo Light sells three trips for Austria, all unlimited data at full speed: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99. Two weeks at $14.99 is $34 under Saily's 15 days at $48.99. A month at $26.99 is $45 under Saily's $71.99. There is no 7-day plan.
For a fixed amount of data the two sellers are almost level. 10 GB for 30 days is $10.99 at Saily and $11 at Airalo, $0.01 less at Saily. 20 GB is $15.99 at Saily and $16 at Airalo, again $0.01 less at Saily. Either 10 GB bucket costs less than Ringo Light's 2 weeks at $14.99, and lasts 30 days against 2 weeks. Either 20 GB bucket costs less than Ringo Light's 30 days at $26.99, for the same 30 days. Ringo Light sells no buckets. We would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo has no unlimited for Austria, so its Servus Austria plan is just a fixed amount of data. Saily's unlimited gives 5 GB a day at full speed, then slows you to 1 Mbps. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 3 days, 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Austria
Austria has three networks: A1, Magenta and 3, also called Drei. All three cover Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Graz well, and the main rail lines. The Alps are the hard part. Deep valleys, high passes and the national parks have gaps on every network.
Airalo does not name its Austrian network, Saily does not name its network on its listing and Ringo Light rides a local partner network. None of the brands in the full comparison names Magenta. If you plan to hike or drive the high roads, download offline maps before you leave the valley, whichever eSIM you buy.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs no app in Austria, since you can buy on its site or in its app. Saily needs its app. Ringo Light needs no app: the eSIM arrives by email in seconds, installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM. For Austria it sells three trips, all unlimited data at full speed: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99. You pay once, nothing renews and there is no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 7-day plan, no phone number. It is data only, and calls go over apps that use data. If you want 10 GB for a month, Airalo at $11 and Saily at $10.99 both sell it. If you want exactly a week, Ringo Light has no 7-day plan, and its 2 weeks at $14.99 is the nearest length.
Holafly, Nomad and Ubigi are priced the same day in the full comparison for Austria, at /blog/best-esim-for-austria. The card to buy Ringo Light is further up this page, just after the side-by-side table.
Which to pick
- Airalo, if you want a bucket. 10 GB for 30 days costs $11 and 20 GB costs $16, on the Servus Austria plan. There is no unlimited option.
- Saily, if you want the lowest bucket prices listed. 10 GB for 30 days at $10.99, 20 GB at $15.99. The listing is from June and saily.com refused the fetch, so check the price at checkout.
- ✓Ringo Light, if the trip is 3 days, two weeks or a month and you want unlimited. Unlimited data at full speed, at $8.99, $14.99 or $26.99. No 7-day plan, and no buckets either.
Pick by trip
Ringo Light, 3 days, $8.99. Neither Airalo nor Saily sells a 3-day unlimited plan for Austria, so there is no rival price to set beside it.
Ringo Light has no 7-day plan, so take 2 weeks at $14.99. Airalo and Saily sell no 7-day unlimited plan for Austria either, so there is nothing to compare.
Ringo Light, 2 weeks, $14.99. Saily asks $48.99 for 15 days.
Ringo Light, 30 days, $26.99. Saily asks $71.99 for the month.
Saily's 10 GB for 30 days is $10.99 and Airalo's is $11, so either does it. Ringo Light sells no bucket.

We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
