1 · The short answer
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2027 runs from Tuesday 18 to Saturday 22 May at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, Royal Hospital Road, London SW3. The first two days are for RHS members, the public days follow, and Friday has an evening session called Chelsea Late. The show is on the Thames side of Chelsea, a short walk from Sloane Square on the Tube.
Your phone carries your ticket, your route and the show map, and you will want it for photos of the gardens too. Ringo Light's United Kingdom plan covers London and the rest of the country with unlimited data at full speed, arrives by email and installs in one scan, so it works when you land. The UK is outside the EU roam-like-at-home rules since Brexit, so a European SIM may not cover you here.

2 · Getting to Royal Hospital Road
Sloane Square on the District and Circle lines is the usual station for visitors, and the walk down to the Royal Hospital takes around ten minutes. Victoria is a bigger interchange with the Victoria line and national rail, and from there you can ride one stop on the District line or walk. Check the show's own local area map on the RHS site for the entrances and for any road closures that week.
You do not need to buy a Tube ticket: tap in and out with a contactless card or a phone wallet and the fare is worked out for you. Use the same card or device each time so the daily cap applies.
3 · Tickets and the day itself
- ✓Book ahead. Chelsea is a ticketed show and the RHS advises booking early. Buy only from the RHS, and check the ticket page for the entry rules for your day.
- ✓Keep the ticket on your phone. If your ticket is digital, save it to your phone wallet or screenshot it at the hotel on Wi-Fi, so it opens even if the signal at the gate is slow. If you are sent a paper ticket instead, take a photo of the barcode as a backup.
- ✓Members and public days. The first two days are for members only, with the public days after that. Check which day your ticket is for before you set off.
- ✓Chelsea Late. The Friday evening session runs after the main day. Check the organiser's site for the exact hours, the entry rules and whether it needs a separate ticket.
4 · Signal in a packed showground
The Great Pavilion and the show gardens fill up by late morning, and thousands of phones share the same few masts around Chelsea. Texts and calls usually get through, but photo and video uploads queue first. Post later from the Tube or your hotel, and agree a meeting point by garden name or gate before you split up.
Download the show map, your ticket and your route home while you are on Wi-Fi. With those saved offline, you will use very little live data inside the gates.
5 · Battery, weather and photos
A long day outdoors with a camera drains a battery. Bring a small power bank, turn the screen brightness down and keep the phone out of the rain, since a May day in London can switch from sun to showers. Most visitors take far more photos than they expect, so clear some storage the night before.
Plant identification apps need a connection to work. Having data on means you can look up a flower on the spot rather than writing the name down and hoping.
6 · What to do around the show
Chelsea itself has plenty to fill a day: the King's Road for shops and cafes, the Chelsea Physic Garden for a quieter garden visit, and the river path along the Embankment. Further out, the Tube takes you to the South Bank, Kensington's museums and Hyde Park in a few stops.
