The short answer
Airalo is the travel eSIM most people already know for the UK. Ringo Light is ours. Priced on the same day, Ringo Light is cheaper for unlimited at every length it sells: $8.99 against $11.50 for 3 days, $14.99 for 2 weeks against $27 for one week at Airalo, and $26.99 against $69 for 30 days. Airalo wins where we sell nothing: buckets from 1 GB, a 7-day plan, a named network, EE, and an app that shows your balance.
Unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks at $14.99 or 30 days at $26.99, and 3 days at $8.99. Nothing renews, no app. Airalo asks $27 for one week, $69 for a month and $11.50 for 3 days.
10 GB for 30 days at $19, 20 GB at $31, buckets from $4 for 1 GB. Unlimited at $11.50 for 3 days, $27 for 7 days, $69 for 30 days, 3 GB a day at full speed. Its own page names EE.

The prices, charted
US dollars, 25 October 2026. Ringo Light sells 2 weeks, the nearest length it has. Airalo is 3 GB a day at full speed, then about 1 Mbps; Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed.
The 30-day unlimited plan at each brand. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed. Airalo slows to about 1 Mbps after 3 GB a day.
The bucket most people buy for a two-week trip. Ringo Light sells no bucket: its 2 weeks is unlimited and lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. If the trip itself is a month of light use, Airalo's 10 GB lasts the whole month and ours does not.

Airalo vs Ringo Light in one paragraph
For unlimited data in the UK, Ringo Light is cheaper than Airalo at every length it sells, and not by a little. Three days is $8.99 against $11.50. Two weeks is $14.99, which is less than Airalo charges for one week, $27. A month is $26.99 against $69. Ours is unlimited data at full speed; Airalo gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then about 1 Mbps. Airalo wins everything we do not sell: a 1 GB bucket from $4, 10 GB for 30 days at $19, a 7-day plan, a named network, EE, and an app that shows how much you have left. Pick Airalo if you want a small bucket, a plan that lasts a full month on little data, or a brand name you already trust. Pick Ringo Light if you want unlimited for 3 days, two weeks or a month and would rather pay less than half.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars, from Airalo's own site and our own catalogue. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $11.50 and Ringo Light $8.99. For a week, Airalo asks $27; Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan, and its 2 weeks at $14.99 costs $12.01 less than Airalo's week with a week of days left over. For 30 days, Airalo asks $69 and Ringo Light $26.99, a gap of $42.01.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the only one of the two that sells it: 10 GB for 30 days at $19, 20 GB at $31, and buckets from $4 for 1 GB. Ringo Light sells no buckets. Our 2 weeks at $14.99 is cheaper than Airalo's 10 GB at $19, and it is unlimited, but it lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. If you need a little data spread over a whole month, Airalo's bucket is the right buy and we would rather you read that here than at checkout. For 20 GB over a month, our 30 days at $26.99 is cheaper than Airalo's $31 and has no cap.
All three charts on this page carry an Airalo bar, because Airalo sells a week, a month and a 10 GB bucket for the UK. Ringo Light is the lower bar on each.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for the UK gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to about 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. That covers maps, messages and an hour or two of video; a long evening of HD streaming or a video call from the hotel will hit it. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days, and the same on the 3-day trip. Fair use policy, see Terms. Neither plan renews.
Networks and coverage in the UK
The UK has four networks: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. All four cover London, the big cities and the motorways well; coverage thins in the Scottish glens and the Lake District fells whoever you are on. Airalo's own page names EE, which has the widest 4G footprint in the country. Ringo Light rides a local partner network. For London, Edinburgh, Bath and the main rail lines, both work. If you want to know the operator's name before you buy, Airalo is the one of the two that tells you.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it, and the app shows how much of a bucket is left. Support is chat inside the app. A wrong purchase is refunded as Airmoney credit, not cash. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds, installs in one scan from the QR code, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land at Heathrow, Gatwick or Manchester.
What Ringo Light is, and what it is not
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For the UK it sells three trips, all unlimited data at full speed: 3 days at $8.99, 2 weeks at $14.99 and 30 days at $26.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it is not: it is data only, there is no phone number, no buckets, no 7-day plan, and no network name on the box. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 1 GB for a few messages, or 10 GB that lasts a calendar month, Airalo sells it and we do not. For unlimited at 3 days, two weeks or a month, Ringo Light is the cheaper of the two by a wide margin.

Left out: Holafly, Saily, Nomad and Ubigi. They sell the UK too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-uk.
