Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars. Airalo sells unlimited at $19.50 for 3 days, $36 for 7 days, $49 for 15 days and $99 for 30 days. Ringo Light sells two trips for Qatar: 2 weeks at $18.99 and 30 days at $37.99. The gap is $17.01 against Airalo's week, $30.01 against its 15 days and $61.01 against its month. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan, so for 3 days the two are close: our 2 weeks costs $0.51 less than Airalo's 3 days, and covers a longer trip.
For a fixed amount of data, Airalo is the one of the two that sells it: 1 GB for 3 days at $4.50, 10 GB for 30 days at $29, 20 GB at $45. Ringo Light sells no buckets. Its 2 weeks at $18.99 is unlimited but ends after 2 weeks, so if the 10 GB must last a whole month, Airalo is the one to buy. Our 30 days at $37.99 costs $7.01 less than Airalo's 20 GB at $45. For a cheaper 10 GB, Nomad and Ubigi at $19 beat Airalo's $29 in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-qatar.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Qatar gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. That is enough for maps, messages and an hour or two of video; a long day of streaming or a laptop on a hotspot will hit it. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Qatar
Qatar has two networks, Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar. Both have 5G across Doha, Lusail and the main roads. In the dunes around Khor Al Adaid and on the empty roads of the north and west, signal gets weaker on both, so download offline maps before those drives. Airalo names Vodafone on its page. Ringo Light rides a local partner network and names none.
Calls in Qatar: what works on a data eSIM
Every plan here is data only, with no Qatari phone number, so your calls go through apps. Qatar limits internet voice calls to services its regulator allows, and travellers report that WhatsApp and FaceTime calls sometimes connect and sometimes do not. Messages, photos and voice notes go through. Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet are used every day for work calls in Qatar.
Installation, app and support
Airalo needs its app: you buy, install and top up inside it, and that is also where its support chat lives. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. There is no balance screen, because there is nothing to count. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on when you land.
What Ringo Light is, and what it is not
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Qatar it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $18.99 and 30 days at $37.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it is not: it is data only, with no phone number, so calls go over apps that use data. It sells no buckets and no 3-day or 7-day plan. It names no network. There is no app and no balance screen. If you want a one-day stopover, 10 GB to last a month, or a Vodafone plan by name, Airalo is the better buy. For unlimited at two weeks or a month, Ringo Light is the cheaper of the two by a wide margin.

Which to pick
- ✓Ringo Light, if you want unlimited for two weeks or a month. $18.99 or $37.99, unlimited data at full speed, cheaper than Airalo at each length. Its 2 weeks costs less than Airalo's 7 days.
- Airalo, if you want a one-day stopover. 1 GB for 3 days at $4.50, enough for maps, ride-hailing and messages. Ringo Light sells nothing that short.
- Airalo, if you want a bucket that lasts 30 days. 10 GB at $29, 20 GB at $45. Ringo Light sells no bucket.
- Airalo, if you want a named network and an app with your balance. Vodafone, stated on its own page, and buy, install, top up and chat to support in one place.
Pick by trip
Nothing: the terminal has free Wi-Fi.
Airalo 1 GB for 3 days, $4.50. Ringo Light sells no short plan.
Ringo Light unlimited, 2 weeks, $18.99. Airalo's 7 days is $36, and Ringo Light sells no 7-day plan, so you take 2 weeks for less and let the extra days lapse.
Airalo 10 GB for 30 days at $29. Ringo Light's 2 weeks at $18.99 is unlimited and cheaper, but it ends after 2 weeks.
Ringo Light unlimited, 30 days, $37.99, against $99 at Airalo, where the hotspot would eat the 3 GB a day quickly.
