1 · The short answer
An Umrah runs on your phone now: the permit, the Rawdah booking, the train, the hotel shuttle and the group chat. Every travel eSIM sells it as part of its Saudi Arabia plan, so we priced the six that get most of the traffic on the same day for the trips pilgrims actually make, ten days to two weeks between Makkah and Madinah, and a month for Ramadan.
Unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks at $22.99, less than any rival here charges for 7 days. 30 days at $50.99 for Ramadan or Hajj. Nothing renews.
10 GB for 30 days at $18 on stc, if you mostly use hotel Wi-Fi. Ringo Light sells no buckets.
15 days of unlimited at $54 on Zain, 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps.
Days, not gigabytes, on Mobily. $57.90 for 15 days; sharing limited to 1 GB a day.
Prices read on 28 September 2026: Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi on their own sites or listings, Ringo Light from its catalogue. All in US dollars unless stated. Treat every number as a snapshot.

2 · The prices, charted
US dollars, 28 September 2026. Ringo Light sells 2 weeks, the others 15 days. Nomad stops at 10 days ($33). Ubigi sells no Saudi unlimited; its bar is its Middle East plan, 30 GB at full speed, then 2 Mbps.
The 30-day plan at each brand. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed. Airalo and Saily give 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. Ubigi's month is its Middle East plan, 60 GB at full speed, then 2 Mbps. Nomad sells no 30-day unlimited.
Holafly sells no buckets. Ringo Light sells no bucket either: its 2 weeks is unlimited and lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days.

4 · The places of an Umrah, and what your phone does for you there
Six places most Umrah journeys include, in Makkah, Madinah and between them. All have strong 4G and 5G; heavy crowds are what slow your data.
5 · Nusuk, permits and bookings: set them up before you fly
The Nusuk app, from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, is where you get the Umrah permit and book a time slot to pray in the Rawdah at the Prophet's Mosque. Install it and sign in at home, while you still have your home number for the verification codes. Travel eSIMs are data only and cannot receive those text messages.
Keep permits, hotel bookings, train tickets and your group leader's contact on the phone itself, not only in an email, so they open when the signal is slow.
6 · Signal in Makkah and Madinah when the crowds are heavy
All three Saudi networks, stc, Mobily and Zain, cover Makkah, Madinah and the roads and train between them with 4G and 5G, and the mosques have extra masts and Wi-Fi. The strain comes from crowds, not coverage. In the last ten nights of Ramadan, at Friday prayers and around Hajj, hundreds of thousands of phones share the same masts and data slows for everyone, whatever eSIM you carry.
Send photos and videos home when the crowds are thin, after Fajr or late at night, download your maps and duas for offline use, and carry a power bank. Share your live location with your group before you enter the Haram, so you can find each other after prayers.
7 · Between Makkah and Madinah
The Haramain high-speed train links Jeddah airport, Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah, about two hours and a quarter from Makkah to Madinah. Buy seats online and keep the ticket on your phone; in Ramadan they sell out days ahead. Coverage holds at the stations and along most of the line. Coaches on the road take longer and lose signal on some desert stretches.
8 · Which plan fits an Umrah
Most Umrah packages run ten days to two weeks. For about two weeks of unlimited, Airalo asks $54, Saily $54.99 and Holafly $57.90 for 15 days. Nomad stops at 10 days, at $33. Ringo Light charges $22.99 for 2 weeks, nothing renews.
For Ramadan or a long stay, Ringo Light 30 days at $50.99 against $97 at Airalo and $107.50 at Holafly. If you mostly sit on hotel Wi-Fi and use little data, Nomad's 10 GB for 30 days at $18 is cheaper than our 2 weeks.
9 · What Ringo Light is
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Saudi Arabia it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $50.99. Nothing renews. The eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, no app, so you can set it up at home before the journey. The card to buy it is further up this page, just after the side-by-side table.
10 · Pick by trip
Ringo Light unlimited, 2 weeks, $22.99, from Jeddah airport to Makkah and Madinah on one eSIM.
Ringo Light unlimited, 30 days, $50.99. Airalo asks $97.
Nomad 10 GB for 30 days at $18.
One eSIM each. Each phone needs its own, and Holafly limits sharing to 1 GB a day.

12 · How we compared, and our sources
We priced Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi and Ringo Light for Umrah on 28 September 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.
We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Maya Mobile. We could not read its own prices for this country on the day, so it stays out rather than being guessed.
