1 · The short answer

Jeddah is where most pilgrims and Red Sea travellers land, and every travel eSIM sells it as part of its Saudi Arabia plan. We priced the six that get most of the traffic on the same day, for a few days on the Corniche, two weeks with an Umrah and a month on the coast, and looked at what your phone does from the airport to the Haramain train.

4 · What to do in Jeddah, and what your phone does for you there

Six places for a first trip to Jeddah, from the coral-stone old town to the sea and the train to the holy cities. The city and the Corniche have strong 4G and 5G.

5 · Getting online at King Abdulaziz International

Flights to Jeddah land at King Abdulaziz International, north of the city. Pilgrim flights in the Hajj season use the separate Hajj Terminal. Every terminal has 4G and 5G, so install your eSIM at home, leave it switched off, and turn it on for data when you land. Maps, messages and your group chat work before passport control.

The Haramain high-speed train has a station at the airport, with trains to Makkah and Madinah. Buy the seat online before you fly and keep the ticket on your phone; at busy times trains sell out.

6 · Jeddah on your phone

Jeddah stretches for kilometres along the Red Sea, and most visitors move between Al-Balad, the Corniche and the malls by ride app. Careem and Uber both work, and your maps app gives walking times inside the old town, where the lanes are too narrow for cars.

stc, Mobily and Zain all have 5G in Jeddah, on the Corniche and around the Haramain stations, so for the city the network your eSIM uses barely matters. Out at sea on a boat or diving trip you lose signal within a few kilometres of the shore.

7 · Which plan fits a Jeddah trip

A long weekend: Nomad sells 3 days of unlimited at $12, Airalo and Holafly at $12.50. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan.

A week to two weeks, often with an Umrah: seven days of unlimited costs $25 at Nomad, $27 at Airalo and $27.90 at Holafly. Ringo Light's 2 weeks of unlimited data at full speed costs $22.99, less than any of those weeks, and covers Makkah and Madinah on the same eSIM.

A month on the coast or for Hajj: Ringo Light 30 days at $50.99. Airalo asks $97, Saily $98.99 and Holafly $107.50.

8 · What Ringo Light is

Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Saudi Arabia, Jeddah included, it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $50.99. Nothing renews. The eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, no app.

For a fixed amount of data, Nomad's 10 GB at $18 is cheaper than our 2 weeks. The card to buy Ringo Light is further up this page, just after the side-by-side table.

10 · Frequently asked questions

What is the best eSIM for Jeddah?+
For a week or more, Ringo Light: unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks at $22.99 or 30 days at $50.99, priced on 28 September 2026. For 3 days, Nomad at $12. Every brand here sells one Saudi plan that covers Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah.
Does the eSIM work on the Haramain train from Jeddah?+
Yes. The stations have strong coverage and the line runs through covered country, with short gaps in the hills between Makkah and Madinah.
Can I get online as soon as I land in Jeddah?+
Yes, if you install the eSIM before you fly. Turn it on for data when the plane lands and you have signal before passport control, including at the Hajj Terminal.
Do I need a Saudi SIM for Umrah if I fly into Jeddah?+
No. A travel eSIM installed before you fly gives you data from the gate. A local SIM is sold against your passport with a fingerprint check, often in a queue at the airport. You still need the Nusuk app for your Umrah permit.

11 · How we compared, and our sources

We priced Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi and Ringo Light for Jeddah on 28 September 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.

We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.

Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.

Left out: Maya Mobile. We could not read its own prices for this country on the day, so it stays out rather than being guessed.
