1 · The short answer
Every trip to Egypt passes through Cairo, and every travel eSIM sells it as part of its Egypt plan. We priced the six that get most of the traffic on the same day, for three days of Pyramids and museums, a week with Alexandria or a Nile cruise, and two weeks down to Luxor and Aswan, and looked at what your phone does in a city where ride apps beat haggling.
Unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks at $18.99, less than any rival here charges for 7 days, and a cent under Ubigi's 10 GB. 30 days at $40.99. Nothing renews.
3 days of unlimited at $14, 2 GB a day at full speed, on Orange and Vodafone. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan.
15 days at $44, 5 GB a day at full speed, then 2 Mbps. 3 GB for 30 days at $9.
Days, not gigabytes, on Orange. $36.50 for a week; sharing limited to 1 GB a day.
Prices read on 28 September 2026: Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi, NTRA on their own sites or listings, Ringo Light from its catalogue. All in US dollars unless stated. Treat every number as a snapshot.

2 · The prices, charted
US dollars, 28 September 2026. Ringo Light sells 2 weeks, the others 15 days. Ubigi's 15 days is 5 GB a day at full speed, then 2 Mbps. Nomad stops at 10 days ($35) and Saily sells no Egypt unlimited.
The 30-day plan at each brand. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed. Ubigi's month is 5 GB a day at full speed, then 2 Mbps. Nomad and Saily sell no 30-day Egypt unlimited.
Holafly sells no buckets. Ringo Light sells no bucket either: its 2 weeks is unlimited and lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days. Ubigi's 10 GB lasts a month for one cent more.

4 · What to do in Cairo, and what your phone does for you there
Six places for a first trip to Cairo, from the plateau to the old city. Cairo and Giza have good 4G; the inside of a pyramid does not.
5 · Getting online at Cairo or Sphinx airport
Most flights land at Cairo International, in the northeast of the city; some use Sphinx International, west of Giza and closer to the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Both have 4G at the gate. Install your eSIM at home, leave it switched off, and turn it on for data when you land.
Uber works across Cairo and Giza, with the price fixed in the app. That saves a negotiation at the kerb, and the traffic means the app's time estimate is worth having.
6 · Cairo on your phone
Egypt's networks, Vodafone, Orange, e& and WE, cover Cairo, Giza and the road to Saqqara well. Inside the pyramids and tombs signal drops, as it does in any stone chamber. Coverage follows the Nile south to Luxor and Aswan; out in the desert it thins.
Book tickets for the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Giza plateau online ahead and keep them on your phone. A translation app with camera mode reads menus and signs in Arabic.
7 · Which plan fits a Cairo trip
Three days of Pyramids and museums: Nomad sells 3 days of unlimited at $14, Airalo $19.50 and Holafly $19.90. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan, but its 2 weeks costs $18.99, less than Airalo or Holafly charge for 3 days.
A week: Nomad and Ubigi $27, Airalo $32, Holafly $36.50. Ringo Light 2 weeks of unlimited data at full speed, $18.99.
Two weeks down to Luxor and Aswan: Ubigi $44, Airalo $49 and Holafly $50.50 for 15 days, against Ringo Light 2 weeks at $18.99 for the whole country. A month: $40.99.

11 · How we compared, and our sources
We priced Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi and Ringo Light for Cairo on 28 September 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.
We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Maya Mobile. We could not read its own prices for this country on the day, so it stays out rather than being guessed.
