The short answer
Nomad is cheaper than Airalo for Egypt wherever both sell the same thing: $14 against $19.50 for 3 days of unlimited, $27 against $32 for a week, $28 against $33 for 10 GB and $37 against $42 for 20 GB. Nomad stops at 10 days of unlimited ($35) and sells no 30-day unlimited, so the longer trips cannot be compared between the two. Ringo Light, the third option, is unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks at $18.99 or 30 days at $40.99, and sells no 3-day or 7-day plan.
Unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks at $18.99 or 30 days at $40.99, nothing renews, no app. Airalo asks $49 for 15 days and $90 for the month; Nomad sells no 15-day or 30-day unlimited. No 3-day or 7-day plan.

Airalo vs Nomad in one paragraph
Nomad is cheaper than Airalo for Egypt at every length and size they both sell, by $5.50 on 3 days of unlimited, by $5 on a week, by $5 on 10 GB and by $5 on 20 GB. Nomad also gives you two networks, Orange and Vodafone, where Airalo names one, Vodafone. The catch is length: Nomad stops at 10 days of unlimited at $35 and sells no 30-day unlimited, so for 15 days or a month only Airalo of the two sells a plan, at $49 and $90. Airalo also sells buckets from $5.50 for 1 GB, and its unlimited gives 3 GB a day at full speed against 2 GB a day at Nomad. Pick Nomad for a short trip or a bucket. Pick Airalo if you want unlimited for 15 days or a month from these two. If the trip is two weeks or a month, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $18.99 and 30 days at $40.99, unlimited data at full speed.
Price: the same trip at each
Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars, from each brand's own site. For 3 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $19.50 and Nomad $14. For a week, $32 at Airalo and $27 at Nomad. Nomad wins every row the two share. For 15 days, Airalo asks $49 and Nomad sells no such plan; its nearest is 10 days at $35. For 30 days, Airalo asks $90 and Nomad sells no 30-day unlimited. We show no Nomad figure for those two lengths and call neither brand cheaper there.
For a fixed amount of data, Nomad's 10 GB for 30 days is $28 against $33 at Airalo, and its 20 GB is $37 against $42. Airalo's buckets come from the esimdb listing dated 5 October 2026; Nomad's from its own site. Nomad also sells 3 GB at $12; Airalo's smallest bucket is 1 GB from $5.50.
Ringo Light sells two trips for Egypt: 2 weeks at $18.99 and 30 days at $40.99. The 2 weeks costs $30.01 less than Airalo's 15 days at $49 and $16.01 less than Nomad's 10 days at $35. The 30 days costs $49.01 less than Airalo's $90. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan and no 7-day plan. For 3 days, Nomad at $14 is the cheapest of the three. For a week, Ringo Light's 2 weeks at $18.99 still costs less than Nomad's week at $27 or Airalo's at $32, with a week of days left over, but if you want a plan that is exactly 7 days, only Airalo and Nomad sell one. Ringo Light sells no buckets either, and its 30 days at $40.99 is $3.99 above Nomad's 20 GB at $37. If a bucket is all you need, Nomad is the cheaper of the two, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.
What unlimited means at each
Airalo's unlimited for Egypt gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then slows to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. Nomad gives 2 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. That is enough for maps, messages and an hour of video at Nomad, a little more at Airalo; a long evening of streaming in HD will hit either, and a laptop on the hotspot sooner. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.
Networks and coverage in Egypt
Egypt has four networks: Vodafone, Orange, e& (once Etisalat) and WE. Vodafone and Orange carry most travel eSIMs. Airalo names Vodafone and Nomad names Orange and Vodafone; Ringo Light rides a local partner network. Coverage on all of them follows the Nile valley, Cairo, Alexandria and the Red Sea resorts, where nearly everyone lives. Out in the desert, on the road south to Abu Simbel or towards the Western Desert oases, signal thins out on every network. Download offline maps before those drives, whichever of the three you pick.
Installation, app and support
Airalo and Nomad both need their app: you buy, install and top up inside it. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land.
There is one more reason to use a travel eSIM in Egypt rather than a local SIM. Since 21 January 2026, a phone bought abroad that goes onto an Egyptian SIM owes customs fees, with a 90-day exemption for tourists from the day the phone is activated on the network, and a local SIM has to be bought in person with your passport. Airalo, Nomad and Ringo Light all install before you fly, need no counter and no passport copy, and work from the moment you land.
The cheaper third option: Ringo Light
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Egypt it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $18.99 and 30 days at $40.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.
What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day plan, no 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 3 days or a week, Nomad is the cheapest of the three. If you want a bucket, Nomad is cheaper than Airalo. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three by a wide margin.

Frequently asked questions
How we compared, and our sources
Airalo, Nomad, Ringo Light
We priced Airalo, Nomad and Ringo Light for Egypt on 25 October 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.
We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Holafly, Saily and Ubigi. They sell Egypt too and are priced on the same day in the full comparison at /blog/best-esim-for-egypt. This page answers one question, Airalo or Nomad, so it keeps to those two and the cheaper third option. Left out: Maya Mobile. We could not read its own prices for this country on the day, so it stays out rather than being guessed. Left out: Nomad for 15 days and 30 days of unlimited. Nomad sells neither for Egypt, so there is no Nomad figure to set against Airalo at those lengths and none is shown.
