Airalo vs Saily in one paragraph

For Egypt the two are close to a coin toss on price. Saily is cheaper for unlimited by one cent on 15 days ($48.99 against $49) and one cent on 30 days ($89.99 against $90). Airalo is cheaper for buckets by 99 cents, $33 against $33.99 for 10 GB and $42 against $42.99 for 20 GB. The unlimited plans are the same: 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. What separates them is the range. Airalo also sells 3 days at $19.50 and a week at $32, buckets from $5.50 for 1 GB, and names its network, Vodafone. Saily sells no 3-day or 7-day plan and names no network for Egypt. Pick Airalo for a short trip, a small bucket or a named network. Pick Saily if you want the 15-day or 30-day unlimited and a cent matters to you. If the trip is two weeks or a month, neither is the cheapest: Ringo Light sells 2 weeks at $18.99 and 30 days at $40.99, unlimited data at full speed.

Price: the same trip at each

Priced on 25 October 2026, in US dollars, from each brand's own site. For 15 days of unlimited, Airalo asks $49 and Saily $48.99. For 30 days, $90 at Airalo and $89.99 at Saily. Saily wins those two rows by a cent each. For 3 days and a week, Airalo asks $19.50 and $32, and Saily sells neither.

For a fixed amount of data, Airalo's 10 GB for 30 days is $33 against $33.99 at Saily, and its 20 GB is $42 against $42.99. Airalo's buckets come from the esimdb listing dated 5 October 2026; Saily's from saily.com. Airalo wins both rows by 99 cents.

Ringo Light sells two trips for Egypt: 2 weeks at $18.99 and 30 days at $40.99. The 2 weeks costs $30.01 less than Airalo's 15 days at $49 and $30.00 less than Saily's at $48.99. The 30 days costs $49.01 less than Airalo's $90 and $49.00 less than Saily's $89.99. Ringo Light sells no 3-day plan and no 7-day plan, and no buckets. For 3 days or a week, Airalo is the only one of the three that sells one. Ringo Light's 30 days at $40.99 is $1.01 below Airalo's 20 GB at $42 and $2.00 below Saily's at $42.99, and it is unlimited. Its 2 weeks at $18.99 costs less than either 10 GB, but a bucket lasts 30 days and our 2 weeks lasts 2 weeks. If you need a small amount of data to last a whole month, Airalo is the better buy of the three, and we would rather you read that here than at checkout.

What unlimited means at each

Both give 3 GB a day at full speed, then slow to 1 Mbps for the rest of the day. That is enough for maps, messages and an hour or two of video; a long evening of streaming in HD will hit it, and a laptop on the hotspot sooner. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed for the whole 2 weeks or 30 days. Fair use policy, see Terms.

Networks and coverage in Egypt

Egypt has four networks: Vodafone, Orange, e& (once Etisalat) and WE. Vodafone and Orange carry most travel eSIMs. Airalo names Vodafone; Saily does not name its network for Egypt, and Ringo Light rides a local partner network. Coverage on all of them follows the Nile valley, Cairo, Alexandria and the Red Sea resorts, where nearly everyone lives. Out in the desert, on the road south to Abu Simbel or towards the Western Desert oases, signal thins out on every network. Download offline maps before those drives, whichever of the three you pick. If you want to know the network before you buy, Airalo is the one of the two that tells you.

Installation, app and support

Airalo and Saily both need their app: you buy, install and top up inside it. Ringo Light needs no app; the eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, and support is by email. Whichever you pick, install it at home before you fly and switch it on for data when you land.

There is one more reason to use a travel eSIM in Egypt rather than a local SIM. Since 21 January 2026, a phone bought abroad that goes onto an Egyptian SIM owes customs fees, with a 90-day exemption for tourists from the day the phone is activated on the network, and a local SIM has to be bought in person with your passport. Airalo, Saily and Ringo Light all install before you fly, need no counter and no passport copy, and work from the moment you land.

The cheaper third option: Ringo Light

Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Egypt it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $18.99 and 30 days at $40.99. One payment, nothing renews, no app.

What it does not do: no buckets, no 3-day plan, no 7-day plan, no phone number, data only. Calls go over apps that use data. If you want 3 days or a week, Airalo is the only one of the three that sells it. If you want a bucket, Airalo is the cheaper of the two that sell one. For two weeks or a month of unlimited, Ringo Light is the cheapest of the three by a wide margin.
