1 · The short answer
The Bali Arts Festival, known locally as Pesta Kesenian Bali, is held every year in Denpasar, mostly at the Taman Werdhi Budaya Art Centre. It usually runs for about a month from mid June into July. The 2026 edition was widely reported as 13 June to 11 July. Check the organiser's site for the next edition's dates and programme.
Evenings can be busy, traffic in Denpasar is heavy and parking is limited, so a ride app and offline maps save time. Mobile coverage in Denpasar is good.
Ringo Light's Indonesia plan covers Bali and the rest of the country on one eSIM with unlimited data at full speed. It arrives by email and installs in one scan.
Ringo Light's Indonesia plan covers the whole of Indonesia: unlimited data at full speed, 2 weeks for $23.99 or 30 days for $35.99, nothing renews. The plan is at ringoesim.com/indonesia, and every brand's price for Indonesia is compared on one day in Best eSIM for Indonesia.

2 · What happens
The festival showcases Balinese performing arts, with dance, gamelan music, drama, parades, crafts and exhibitions from communities across the island. Most events are at the Art Centre in Denpasar, and the programme changes daily. Check the official programme for what is on each evening and whether any event needs a ticket.
3 · Getting to Denpasar
- ✓From the airport: Denpasar is a short drive from Bali's Ngurah Rai airport, usually under an hour depending on traffic.
- ✓From Ubud, Seminyak or Canggu: Allow extra time. Traffic into Denpasar slows in the late afternoon, just as evening events start.
- ✓Gojek and Grab: Both apps work for cars and motorbike rides. Set your pickup point a short walk from the venue gate to avoid the queue of vehicles.
- ✓Leaving late: Order your ride a few minutes before the show ends, or walk a street away from the exit.
4 · What your phone has to do
- ✓Programme and maps: Save the schedule as a screenshot and download an offline map of Denpasar.
- ✓Cashless: Cards work in larger shops, and QRIS QR payments are common at food stalls and craft stands. Carry some cash for small vendors.
- ✓Crowds and signal: Coverage is good, but busy evenings can slow uploads. Share videos later from your hotel.
- ✓Battery: Long evenings drain a phone. Bring a power bank.
5 · Respect the performances
Many performances have religious or ceremonial meaning. Dress modestly, follow staff directions about where to stand, and keep flash and bright screens off during performances.
6 · Which plan covers the trip
Ringo Light's Indonesia plan covers Denpasar, the rest of Bali and the other islands with unlimited data at full speed, enough for ride apps, maps and video calls. If your trip also takes in other countries, the Global plan covers your route.
