1 · The short answer
Labuan Bajo, on the western tip of Flores, is the harbour for Komodo National Park: the dragons on Komodo and Rinca, the viewpoint on Padar, the pink beaches and the manta reefs. Most trips are three to six days, a boat trip of one to three nights and a few days in town, often after Bali. We priced six travel eSIMs on the same day, and we are straight about what any of them does at sea.
Unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks at $22.99, less than Airalo ($27) or Holafly ($27.50) charge for 7 days, and the same plan covers Bali. 30 days at $35.99. Nothing renews.
10 GB for 30 days at $19 on Telkomsel, the network with the widest reach in eastern Indonesia. Unlimited for 5 days at $18.
3 days of unlimited at $11, for a short boat trip and straight out again.
10 GB for 30 days at $16, on Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, good in town.
Prices read on 27 September 2026: Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi on their own sites or listings, Ringo Light from its catalogue. All in US dollars unless stated. Treat every number as a snapshot.

2 · The prices, charted
US dollars, 27 September 2026. The rivals sell 15 days, Ringo Light 2 weeks. Ubigi's 15 days is 30 GB at full speed, then 2 Mbps.
The 30-day plan at each brand. Nomad sells no 30-day unlimited.
Holafly sells no buckets. Ringo Light sells no bucket either: its 2 weeks is unlimited, so it lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days.

4 · What to do around Komodo and Labuan Bajo, and what your phone does for it
Six places from the harbour to the heart of the national park and up into the hills of Flores, with the one thing your phone does for you at each. Signal is good in Labuan Bajo, comes and goes around the islands, and is often absent at sea.
5 · Arriving at Komodo Airport (LBJ)
Komodo Airport sits on the edge of Labuan Bajo, a few minutes from the harbour and most hotels, with direct flights from Bali in a little over an hour and from Jakarta. Turn the eSIM on as you land: the town has 4G on the main networks, and it is your last dependable signal before the boat.
Labuan Bajo is a small town that grew round its harbour. App rides are thin on the ground compared with Bali, so most hotels and boat operators arrange the airport pick-up, and motorbike taxis wait outside arrivals.
6 · Signal on a Komodo boat trip: the honest version
No eSIM changes where the towers are. Near Labuan Bajo, and close to the islands with villages such as Komodo and Rinca, you will often find a signal, usually on Telkomsel. Around the outer islands and on open water, expect long stretches with none, and some anchorages have no signal at all. A night on a liveaboard is often a night offline.
So download your maps, your boat booking and the operator's number before you leave the harbour, and tell someone at home your dates. The data you did not use at sea is not wasted on an unlimited plan: it is all still there when you are back in town that evening.
7 · Which network matters in Flores
In eastern Indonesia Telkomsel has the widest reach by a distance, and it is the network most likely to find a signal from a boat or on the road east across Flores to Wae Rebo, Bajawa or Kelimutu. Nomad and Saily ride Telkomsel, and Holafly lists XL and Telkomsel. Ubigi's Indosat is fine in Labuan Bajo and thinner outside it.
8 · A boat trip, a week, or Bali and Komodo: what each costs
For a trip of three days, the short plans win: Airalo sells 3 days of unlimited for $11 and Holafly for $11.90. Ringo Light sells no plan shorter than 2 weeks.
Most Komodo trips run longer, five days to a week, or come after a week in Bali on the same Indonesia plan. For a week, Airalo asks $27 and Holafly $27.50; Nomad sells 5 days for $18 and 10 days for $33. Ringo Light charges $22.99 for 2 weeks of unlimited data at full speed and $35.99 for 30 days, nothing renews.
Read what unlimited means before you pick. Airalo gives 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps. Saily gives 5 GB a day, Nomad 2 GB. Holafly states no daily cap for your own phone. Ringo Light is unlimited data at full speed.
9 · If you want a data bucket instead
- Nomad, $19 for 10 GB. On Telkomsel, and 20 GB lasts 45 days for $33. The bucket with the best reach in Flores.
- Ubigi, $16 for 10 GB. The cheapest 10 GB for 30 days, on Indosat, good in town.
- ✓Ringo Light, no buckets. Our 2 weeks is unlimited for $22.99 and our 30 days unlimited for $35.99. If 10 GB has to last a month, Ubigi at $16 is the better buy.
10 · What Ringo Light is
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Indonesia it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99. Nothing renews. The eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, no app.
The card to buy it is further up this page, just after the side-by-side table.
11 · Pick by trip
Airalo unlimited, 3 days, $11. Ringo Light sells no 3 days.
Ringo Light unlimited, 2 weeks, $22.99, less than the rivals charge for 7 days. Nomad 5 days at $18 if you leave on day five.
Ringo Light unlimited, 2 weeks, $22.99, one eSIM for both.
Nomad on Telkomsel for reach, and offline maps either way.
None of these travel plans does that. The full Ringo, which Ringo Light funds, ports the number you have.

13 · How we compared, and our sources
We priced Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi and Ringo Light for Komodo and Labuan Bajo on 27 September 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.
We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Revolut. It sells Indonesia data plans from 1 GB for 7 days up to 100 GB for 60 days inside its banking app, for Revolut account holders only. Its website shows the plan sizes and a starting price in pounds, but no price per plan in dollars, and no unlimited plan, so it has no bar in the charts. Left out: Maya Mobile. We could not read its own prices for this country on the day, so it stays out rather than being guessed.
