1 · The short answer
Lombok is the island next to Bali that people pick for emptier beaches, the Gili islands and the climb up Rinjani. Most trips last one or two weeks, often joined to a week in Bali, and the same Indonesia plan covers both. We priced six travel eSIMs on the same day and checked what each one does on a fast boat, a Gili beach and a volcano.
Unlimited data at full speed for 2 weeks at $22.99 or 30 days at $35.99, nothing renews, and the same plan covers Bali. Airalo asks $48 for 15 days.
10 GB for 30 days at $19 on Telkomsel, the network with the widest reach on Lombok and the small islands.
3 days of unlimited at $11, for a quick Gili hop from Bali. 3 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps.
10 GB for 30 days at $16, on Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison.
Prices read on 27 September 2026: Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi on their own sites or listings, Ringo Light from its catalogue. All in US dollars unless stated. Treat every number as a snapshot.

2 · The prices, charted
US dollars, 27 September 2026. The rivals sell 15 days, Ringo Light 2 weeks. Ubigi's 15 days is 30 GB at full speed, then 2 Mbps.
The 30-day plan at each brand. Nomad sells no 30-day unlimited.
Holafly sells no buckets. Ringo Light sells no bucket either: its 2 weeks is unlimited, so it lasts 2 weeks, not 30 days.

4 · What to do on Lombok and the Gilis, and what your phone does for it
Seven places most trips include, from the three Gilis to the summit of Rinjani and the surf beaches of the south, with the one thing your phone does for you at each. Coverage is good in the towns and on the Gilis, patchy in the hills, and close to none high on the volcano.
5 · Arriving: Lombok airport (LOP) or a boat from Bali
Lombok International Airport is at Praya in the south of the island, about 30 to 40 minutes from Kuta Lombok and nearer two hours from Senggigi and Bangsal, the harbour for the Gilis. Turn the eSIM on before you land. App rides exist on Lombok but are fewer than in Bali, so if you land late, book a driver through your hotel before you fly.
Many people arrive by sea instead. Fast boats run from Bali, from Padang Bai, Serangan and Amed, to the Gilis and to the north west of Lombok in roughly one and a half to three hours, and the slow public ferry crosses from Padang Bai to Lembar in four or five. Signal comes and goes in the middle of the Lombok Strait, so save your boat ticket and your hotel address before you board.
6 · Coverage on Lombok, the Gilis and Rinjani
Kuta Lombok, Senggigi, Mataram and all three Gilis have 4G. Telkomsel reaches furthest: into the villages, round the south coast bays and up the lower slopes of Rinjani. XL and Indosat are fine in the towns and on Gili Trawangan, and thinner on the empty beaches west of Kuta. Nomad and Saily ride Telkomsel, Holafly lists XL and Telkomsel, Ubigi rides Indosat.
On Rinjani, expect long stretches with no signal on the trail. Some trekkers find a weak one at the crater rim, usually on Telkomsel; do not count on it. Download the route in your offline maps, save your guide's number, and tell someone at home which days you are on the mountain.
7 · One plan for Bali and Lombok: what each costs
A Lombok trip is usually one to two weeks, often after a week in Bali. Every plan here is an Indonesia plan, so one eSIM covers both islands, the Gilis and the boat between. For two weeks, Airalo asks $48, Saily $48.99 and Holafly $50.50; Ubigi sells 30 GB at full speed for 15 days at $40. Ringo Light charges $22.99 for 2 weeks of unlimited data at full speed, nothing renews.
Staying a month to surf the south coast: Airalo $69, Saily $71.99, Holafly $73.90, Ubigi $59, Ringo Light $35.99.
For a three-day hop to the Gilis from Bali, Ringo Light is the wrong buy: it sells no 3-day plan. Airalo sells 3 days of unlimited for $11. And if you will spend most nights in villages or on the mountain, a Telkomsel plan such as Nomad's is the safer choice for reach.
8 · If you want a data bucket instead
- Ubigi, $16 for 10 GB. The cheapest 10 GB for 30 days, on Indosat, best in the towns.
- Nomad, $19 for 10 GB. On Telkomsel, and 20 GB lasts 45 days for $33. The bucket to pick for Rinjani and the villages.
- ✓Ringo Light, no buckets. Our 2 weeks is unlimited for $22.99 and our 30 days unlimited for $35.99. If 10 GB has to last a whole month, Ubigi at $16 is the better buy.
9 · What Ringo Light is
Ringo Light is our own data eSIM, sold to fund the full Ringo, one plan that works everywhere with your own number ported onto it. For Indonesia it sells two trips, both unlimited data at full speed: 2 weeks at $22.99 and 30 days at $35.99. Nothing renews. The eSIM arrives by email in seconds and installs in one scan, no app.
The card to buy it is further up this page, just after the side-by-side table.
10 · Pick by trip
Airalo unlimited, 3 days, $11. Ringo Light sells no 3 days.
Ringo Light unlimited, 2 weeks, $22.99, one eSIM for every island.
Nomad on Telkomsel, 10 GB for 30 days at $19, for the widest reach.
Ringo Light unlimited, 30 days, $35.99.
None of these travel plans does that. The full Ringo, which Ringo Light funds, ports the number you have.

12 · How we compared, and our sources
We priced Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi and Ringo Light for Lombok and the Gili islands on 27 September 2026, all on the same day, in US dollars. Each rival's price comes from its own website where it showed dollars, otherwise from an esimdb.com listing, and every source and its date is listed below. Ringo Light's prices come from the catalogue our checkout charges.
We compare the trips people actually book: a week, two weeks and a month of unlimited data, and a 10 GB bucket. We read each brand's fair use and speed rules and quote them as the brands state them. We did not run speed tests, so this page makes no speed claims for any brand.
Ringo Light is our own product. We put it in the table on the same terms as everyone else, and where a rival is the better buy the page says so.
Left out: Revolut. It sells Indonesia data plans from 1 GB for 7 days up to 100 GB for 60 days inside its banking app, for Revolut account holders only. Its website shows the plan sizes and a starting price in pounds, but no price per plan in dollars, and no unlimited plan, so it has no bar in the charts. Left out: Maya Mobile. We could not read its own prices for this country on the day, so it stays out rather than being guessed.
