1 · The short answer
The Feria de Abril in Seville usually runs for a week about two weeks after Easter, so the date moves each year. Check the city of Seville's site for the current dates. It is held on the fairground, the Real de la Feria, where hundreds of casetas, the decorated tents, line streets named after bullfighters. Most casetas are private, so a visitor spends the day walking the streets, and that is where the signal is busiest.
The simplest setup for a visitor is a data eSIM for Spain installed at home, with your own SIM left on for calls and bank codes. Ringo Light's Spain plan has unlimited data at full speed; it arrives by email and installs in one scan. EU visitors can also use their home plan under EU roaming rules, if it has enough data.
Ringo Light's Spain plan covers the whole of Spain: unlimited data at full speed, 3 days for $8.99, 2 weeks for $16.99 or 30 days for $26.99, nothing renews. The plan is at ringoesim.com/spain, and every brand's price for Seville is compared on one day in Best eSIM for Seville.

2 · The fairground and the signal
The Real fills up in the evening, and the first night, when the arches are lit, and the weekend are the busiest. Spanish networks cope well in the city on a normal day, but a fairground with tens of thousands of people in a small area is a hard place for any radio.
In practice: messages and maps usually arrive, a video call may not, and uploads can stall. Pause photo backup on mobile data and send big files later from your hotel Wi-Fi.
3 · What your phone has to do
- ✓Casetas and invitations. Most casetas are private and open to members and their guests. If you have an invitation, save the details offline. The city runs a few public casetas, which the city's site lists.
- ✓Maps offline. Download the Seville map in your maps app on Wi-Fi. The fairground streets have names but the tents look alike, and an offline map helps you find the exit.
- ✓The official programme. The city of Seville publishes the dates, the programme and the transport arrangements for the Feria. Check it for the current year.
- ✓Paying. Cards are accepted in much of Seville, but at the fairground many casetas and stalls prefer cash. Carry some euros and keep your phone wallet as a backup.
4 · Getting there and around
Seville is compact and the fairground is south of the centre, so many visitors walk or take a taxi or a bus. The Seville metro has one line and some stops are within walking distance of the area; the city and the metro operator publish the Feria opening hours and any extra service, so check their sites for the current year. Roads around the fairground are closed to traffic, and the arrangements for buses and shuttles change, so check the city's site rather than rely on last year's advice.
Taxis and ride apps are in short supply late at night, so plan your way home before you go in. Maps and transport apps work on mobile data, and they are much quicker to use before you are in the crowd.
5 · Meeting points, battery and safety
- ✓Agree a meeting point before you go in. Pick a spot outside the fairground gates or a named street corner, because in the evening nobody finds a friend by phone alone.
- ✓Share your location in advance. Turn on location sharing with your group early, while the signal is easy.
- ✓Carry a small power bank. A long day outdoors with a weak signal drains a battery fast.
- ✓Keep valuables close. Crowds attract pickpockets. Keep your phone in a front pocket or a zipped bag. The European emergency number is 112.
6 · Which plan covers the Feria de Abril
Ringo Light's Spain plan covers the whole country: Seville, the trip to Cordoba or Granada, and anywhere else you go in Spain. If your trip continues to Portugal, a Europe plan covers the borders on one eSIM. Install it at home on Wi-Fi, switch data to it when you land, and keep your own line for calls.
