1 · The short answer

The 2027 UEFA Champions League final is set for Saturday 5 June 2027 at the Estadio Metropolitano, Atlético de Madrid's stadium on the east side of the city. It hosted the 2019 final, and it will be Madrid's sixth Champions League or European Cup final.

Final tickets are mobile only and held in UEFA's ticket app, and the whole day runs on maps, fan zone updates and messages with friends from home. Ringo Light's Spain plan covers Madrid and the whole of Spain with unlimited data at full speed; it arrives by email and installs in one scan.

2 · Getting to the Metropolitano

Madrid-Barajas airport is close to the stadium; Metro line 8 runs from the airport into the city. On match day, Metro line 7 to Estadio Metropolitano station is the main route, and UEFA and the city usually add extra services and dedicated walking routes for each club's fans.

Madrid's Metro accepts contactless cards at the gates on many lines, and the official Metro de Madrid app shows lines and service changes. Leave plenty of time: final day crowds move slowly, and the stadium opens its gates hours before kickoff.

3 · Tickets, the ballot and the UEFA app

  • ✓Two routes. Each finalist club gets an allocation for its own supporters, sold through the club. A smaller number of tickets go to the general public through a ballot on UEFA's ticket portal, which typically opens months before the final.
  • ✓UEFA Mobile Tickets. Final tickets are delivered to the UEFA Mobile Tickets app close to the match. You need the app installed and logged in on the phone you bring; screenshots are not accepted.
  • ✓Official resale. If UEFA runs a resale platform for the final, use only that one. Unofficial tickets are routinely cancelled.
  • ✓Paying. Cards and phone wallets work almost everywhere in Madrid. Check the stadium's guidance for payment inside the ground.

4 · Signal in a full stadium and the fan zones

A Champions League final means the stadium full, fan zones in the city centre full, and both clubs' supporters gathering in squares across Madrid. All of those phones on the same cells slow uploads first. Your mobile ticket should open from the app without a live connection, but log in and check it the night before.

Agree meeting points with your group before you head to the stadium, set videos to send later, and charge your phone fully. A battery pack helps if you are in the fan zone from midday.

5 · Queueing tips

Security checks and ticket scans at a final take time. Arrive at your gate early, follow the signposted route for your club's supporters, and travel light: large bags are usually refused. The night after the match, Metro stations near the stadium are packed; walking a few stops before boarding is often faster.

6 · Madrid around the final

Madrid is easy to enjoy in two or three days. Walk from the Puerta del Sol to the Plaza Mayor, spend a morning at the Prado, and cool off in the Retiro park around the Palacio de Cristal. Dinner starts late, so there is plenty of time after a day at the fan zone.
